"But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.
And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive."
Where did John's baptism come from? From heaven or from people?" They discussed this among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Then why did you not believe him?'
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although you saw this, you did not later change your minds and believe him.
Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe him.
So then, if someone says to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe him.
"He saved others, but he cannot save himself! He is the king of Israel! If he comes down now from the cross, we will believe in him!

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"
"If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone tied around his neck and to be thrown into the sea.
For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
They discussed with one another, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Then why did you not believe him?'
Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'Look, there he is!' do not believe him.
Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, that we may see and believe!" Those who were crucified with him also spoke abusively to him.
And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
They went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.
Then he appeared to the eleven themselves, while they were eating, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him resurrected.
The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
And now, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time, you will be silent, unable to speak, until the day these things take place."
Those along the path are the ones who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in a time of testing fall away.
But when Jesus heard this, he told him, "Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."
So they discussed it with one another, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Why did you not believe him?'

He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that everyone might believe through him.
But to all who have received him -- those who believe in his name -- he has given the right to become God's children
Jesus said to him, "Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these."
If I have told you people about earthly things and you don't believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
Jesus said to her, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
They said to the woman, "No longer do we believe because of your words, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this one really is the Savior of the world."
So Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders you will never believe!"

If you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.
But if you do not believe what Moses wrote, how will you believe my words?"
Jesus replied, "This is the deed God requires -- to believe in the one whom he sent."
So they said to him, "Then what miraculous sign will you perform, so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?
But I told you that you have seen me and still do not believe.
But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus had already known from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)
We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God!"
Thus I told you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins."
But because I am telling you the truth, you do not believe me.
Who among you can prove me guilty of any sin? If I am telling you the truth, why don't you believe me?
Now the Jewish religious leaders refused to believe that he had really been blind and had gained his sight until at last they summoned the parents of the man who had become able to see.
Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, so he found the man and said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
The man replied, "And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?"
Jesus replied, "I told you and you do not believe. The deeds I do in my Father's name testify about me.
But you refuse to believe because you are not my sheep.
If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.
But if I do them, even if you do not believe me, believe the deeds, so that you may come to know and understand that I am in the Father and the Father is in me."
and I am glad for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him."
and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
She replied, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who comes into the world."
Jesus responded, "Didn't I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?"

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light." When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.
Although Jesus had performed so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him,
For this reason they could not believe, because again Isaiah said,
But Jesus shouted out, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me,
I am telling you this now, before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I am he.
"Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me.
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves.
I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.
Now we know that you know everything and do not need anyone to ask you anything. Because of this we believe that you have come from God."
"I am not praying only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their testimony,
that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.
And the person who saw it has testified (and his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth), so that you also may believe.
The other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he replied, "Unless I see the wounds from the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds from the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe it!"
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and examine my hands. Extend your hand and put it into my side. Do not continue in your unbelief, but believe."

Do you believe the prophets, King Agrippa? I know that you believe."
Some were convinced by what he said, but others refused to believe.
What then? If some did not believe, does their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God?
namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction,
And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would become the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too could have righteousness credited to them.
but also for our sake, to whom it will be credited, those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
