'Believe' in the Bible
When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?”“Yes, Lord,” they answered Him.
“But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me—it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea!
And if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from men?”They began to argue among themselves, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him. Tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him, but you, when you saw it, didn’t even change your minds then and believe him.
“If anyone tells you then, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Over here!’ do not believe it!
So if they tell you, ‘Look, He’s in the wilderness!’ don’t go out; ‘Look, He’s in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.
“He saved others, but He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe in the good news!”
But when Jesus overheard what was said, He told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.”
Immediately the father of the boy cried out, “I do believe! Help my unbelief.”

Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for—believe that you have received them, and you will have them.
They began to argue among themselves: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah! Look—there!’ do not believe it!
Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with Him were taunting Him.
Yet, when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe it.
And they went and reported it to the rest, who did not believe them either.
Later, He appeared to the Eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table. He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who saw Him after He had been resurrected.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
Now listen! You will become silent and unable to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”
The seed along the path are those who have heard and then the Devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
And the seed on the rock are those who, when they hear, welcome the word with joy. Having no root, these believe for a while and depart in a time of testing.
When Jesus heard it, He answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be made well.”
They discussed it among themselves: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
They said, “If You are the Messiah, tell us.”But He said to them, “If I do tell you, you will not believe.
But these words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.
He said to them, “How unwise and slow you are to believe in your hearts all that the prophets have spoken!
But while they still were amazed and unbelieving because of their joy, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
He came as a witnessto testify about the light,so that all might believe through him.
But to all who did receive Him,He gave them the right to be children of God,to those who believe in His name,
Jesus responded to him, “Do you believe only because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.”
If I have told you about things that happen on earth and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about things of heaven?
Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
Jesus told her, “Believe Me, woman, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
And they told the woman, “We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”
Jesus told him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
You don’t have His word living in you, because you don’t believe the One He sent.
How can you believe? While accepting glory from one another, you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God.
For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me.
But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
Jesus replied, “This is the work of God—that you believe in the One He has sent.”
“What sign then are You going to do so we may see and believe You?” they asked. “What are You going to perform?
But as I told you, you’ve seen Me, and yet you do not believe.
But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who would not believe and the one who would betray Him.)
We have come to believe and know that You are the Holy One of God!”
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Who among you can convict Me of sin? If I tell the truth, why don’t you believe Me?
The Jews did not believe this about him—that he was blind and received sight—until they summoned the parents of the one who had received his sight.
When Jesus heard that they had thrown the man out, He found him and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
“I did tell you and you don’t believe,” Jesus answered them. “The works that I do in My Father’s name testify about Me.
If I am not doing My Father’s works, don’t believe Me.
But if I am doing them and you don’t believe Me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in Me and I in the Father.”
I’m glad for you that I wasn’t there so that you may believe. But let’s go to him.”
Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die—ever. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she told Him, “I believe You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who comes into the world.”
I know that You always hear Me, but because of the crowd standing here I said this, so they may believe You sent Me.”
If we let Him continue in this way, everyone will believe in Him! Then the Romans will come and remove both our place and our nation.”
While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become sons of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.
Even though He had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in Him.
This is why they were unable to believe, because Isaiah also said:
Nevertheless, many did believe in Him even among the rulers, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, so they would not be banned from the synagogue.
“I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.
“Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.
Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.
I have told you now before it happens so that when it does happen you may believe.
Now we know that You know everything and don’t need anyone to question You. By this we believe that You came from God.”
I pray not only for these,but also for those who believe in Methrough their message.
May they all be one,as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.May they also be one in Us,so the world may believe You sent Me.
He who saw this has testified so that you also may believe. His testimony is true, and he knows he is telling the truth.
So the other disciples kept telling him, “We have seen the Lord!”But he said to them, “If I don’t see the mark of the nails in His hands, put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe!”
Jesus said, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Those who believe without seeing are blessed.”
But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.
[And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart you may.” And he replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”]
When he arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to associate with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, since they did not believe he was a disciple.
Look, you scoffers,marvel and vanish away,because I am doing a work in your days,a work that you will never believe,even if someone were to explain it to you.”
But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against the brothers.
After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them: “Brothers, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the gospel message and believe.
On the contrary, we believe we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way they are.”
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the One who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”
But when some became hardened and would not believe, slandering the Way in front of the crowd, he withdrew from them and met separately with the disciples, conducting discussions every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.
King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you believe.”
Therefore, take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me.
Some were persuaded by what he said, but others did not believe.
What then? If some did not believe, will their unbelief cancel God’s faithfulness?
—that is, God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction.
And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.
but also for us. It will be credited to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him,
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
