All [things] have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and {anyone to whom} the Son wants to reveal [him].
And if you had known what {it means}, 'I want mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you!"
so that as the sun arose it was scorched, and for want of root, withered away.
And he said to them, 'An enemy has done this!' So the slaves said to him, 'Then do you want us to go [and] gather them?'
And he did not do many wonders there, because of their want of faith.
Then Jesus answered [and] said to her, "O woman, your faith [is] great! Let it be done for you as you want." And her daughter was healed from that hour.
And Jesus summoned his disciples [and] said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have remained with me three days already and do not have anything to eat, and I do not want to send them away hungry lest they give out on the way."
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life on account of me will find it.
So Peter answered [and] said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good [that] we are here! If you want, I will make here three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."
And Jesus said to them, 'Through your want of faith; for verily I say to you, if ye may have faith as a grain of mustard, ye shall say to this mount, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you,

[Note: Throughout this narrative the terms "heal/healing" are originally "clean/cleansing" because the Jews viewed a person with such a disease as ceremonially "unclean." See Lev. 13:1-3].
