Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not ready himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
But he who did not know, and committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask the more.

For from now on there will be five in one house divided: three against two, and two against three.

I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants."'
And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

So he said to them, "Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.

saying, "If you had known, even you, this day, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."
The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the peoplefor they knew that he had spoken this parable against them.
And they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and you do not show partiality, but teach the way of God in truth.
Some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him,
and they questioned him, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, having a wife but no children, the man must take the wife and raise up children for his brother.

and then the third took her, and in the same way the seven died, and they left no children.
Now he is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to him."
"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.
Now when these things begin to take place, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
When they are sprouting, you see and know for yourselves that summer is already near.
So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched his ear and healed him.
But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
Now the men who were holding Jesus mocked him and beat him.
But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, for he had desired to see him for a long time, because he had heard about him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by him.
Then he questioned him with many words, but he gave him no answer.
and said to them, "You have brought this man to me as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. And behold, having examined him in your presence, I have found no guilt in this man concerning those charges which you make against him;
Then he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil has he done? I have found in him no crime deserving death. I will therefore chastise him and release him."
Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." And they divided his garments and cast lots.

but they constrained him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent." So he went in to stay with them.
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"
Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
