For in those days shall be a tribulation - such, that there hath not happened, the like, from the beginning of creation which God created, until the present time, and shall in nowise happen.
Now two days later was the feast of the Passover and of Unleavened Bread. Both the chief priests and the Scribes were continually seeking how they might arrest him by a stratagem and kill him;
But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
At length they came to a place call'd Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, stay here, whilst I shall be at prayer.
You have heard his impious speech. What think you? They all condemned him to be a subject of death.
but he denied it again. a little time after, they that stood by, still urg'd Peter, saying, you are certainly one of his disciples, for your speech shows you to be a Galilean.
to perform his customary duties as a priest before God, he drew the responsibility [that day] of entering the Temple of the Lord to burn the incense offering. [Note: This was done on a golden Altar in the Temple by a priest twice a day].
and he shall be a joy and transport to thee, yea, many shall rejoice on account of his birth; for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord,
and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for the ages, and of his kingdom there shall not be an end.
Even now Elisabeth, who is of your family, is to be a mother, though she is old: and this is the sixth month with her who was without children.

[to be] a light for revealing [God's way of salvation] to the [unconverted] Gentiles, and a [source of] glory to your people, the Israelites."
Then Simeon blessed them and told His mother Mary: “Indeed, this child is destined to cause the fall and rise of many in Israel
And she coming by at that time, praised God, and spoke of him [the child] to all who expected a redemption in Jerusalem.
"Why did you look for me?" he said, "Did you not know I had to be at my Father's house?"
And having arisen from the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon. And Simon's mother-in-law was gripped by a great fever, and they besought him about her.
Now it came about that while the people came pushing to be near him, and to have knowledge of the word of God, he was by a wide stretch of water named Gennesaret;
And so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were working with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Have no fear; from this time forward you will be a fisher of men.
And he charged him to tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and make offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, that it may be a testimony to them.
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
Wherefore neither did I count myself worthy to come to thee. But say by a word and my servant shall be healed.
Soon afterwards He went to a city called Nain; and His disciples were going along with Him,
And, the messengers of John having departed, he began to say unto the multitudes, concerning John - What went ye forth into the desert to gaze at? A reed, by a wind, shaken?
For when John the Immerser came, he did not eat bread or drink wine [on festive occasions] and you said, 'He is dominated by an evil spirit.'
And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
And when He came out onto the land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs.
"Daughter," said He, "your faith has cured you; go, and be at peace."
he is frequently seized by a spirit, which makes him immediately roar, then throws him into convulsions with foaming, and never leaves him, but with difficulty and bruises.
and if there be a child of peace there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall return upon yourselves.
'And by a coincidence a certain priest was going down in that way, and having seen him, he passed over on the opposite side;
And he said to them, When ye pray, say, Our Father he in the heavens, Holy be thy name. Let thy kingdom come. Let thy will be, as in heaven, also upon the earth.
And he, from inside the house, would say in answer, Do not be a trouble to me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; it is not possible for me to get up and give to you?
But if by a finger of God I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Now if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays."
"But woe to you, Pharisees, because you pay a tenth of mint and rue and every garden herb, and neglect justice and love for God! But it was necessary to do these [things] without neglecting those things also.
But Jesus asked him, "Mister, who appointed me to be a judge or arbitrator over you people?"
And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have a great amount of goods in store, enough for a number of years; be at rest, take food and wine and be happy.
happy are the servants he finds in such a state, whether it be at the second or at the third watch of the night, when he comes.
Jesus answered, if there be a faithful prudent steward, appointed by his master to give his domesticks their stated allowance; happy is such a servant,

But when you are invited, go [and] recline at the table in the last place, so that when the one who invited you comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up higher.' Then it will be an honor to you in the presence of all those who are reclining at the table with you.
And He spoke to the one having also invited Him, When you may make a dinner or a supper, do not call your rich friends, nor your brothers, nor your kindred, nor your neighbors; lest they may also invite thee in turn, and there may be a recompense unto thee.
And, hearing these words, one of those who were at table with him said to him, Happy is the man who will be a guest in the kingdom of God.
"If any one is coming to me who does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes and his own life also, he cannot be a disciple of mine.
No one who does not carry his own cross and come after me can be a disciple of mine.
Just as no one of you who does not detach himself from all that belongs to him can be a disciple of mine.
when he had spent all, there happen'd to be a severe famine in that country;
But having answered, he said to his father, Lo, so many years do I serve thee, and I never passed by a commandment of thine, and yet thou never gave me a goat that I might be merry with my friends.
And I say to you 'Win friends for yourselves with your dishonest money,' so that, when it comes to an end, there may be a welcome for you into the Eternal Home.
No man may be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other; or he will keep to the one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.
"You," said Jesus, "are the men who justify themselves before the world, but God can read your hearts; and what is highly esteemed among men may be an abomination in the sight of God.
It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.
For as the lightning flashing from one quarter under heaven, shineth to another quarter under heaven; so shall the Son of man also be at his day.
He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart.

upon seeing this, they all murmur'd, saying, he is going to be treated by a dissolute person.
As they were listening to His words, He went on to teach them by a parable, because He was near to Jerusalem and they supposed that the Kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.
for I was in fear of you, knowing you to be a hard master, who exact what you never gave, and reap where you have never sown.
"'By your own words,' he replied, 'I will judge you, you bad servant. You knew me to be a severe man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow:
saying unto them, It is written, And my house shall be a house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of robbers.
and if we may say, From men, all the people will stone us, for they are having been persuaded John to be a prophet.'
And when you hear about wars and insurrections, do not be terrified, for these [things] must happen first, but the end [will] not [be] at once."
As well great earthquakes, as also, in places, pestilences and famines, will there be, as well objects of terror, as also, from heaven, great signs, will there be.
Now when you shall see Jerusalem invested by an army, then be assured that the desolation of it is nigh.
wo to them that are with child, or to them that give suck in those days: for this will be a region of great distress, and wrath will pour down upon this people.
And, when these things begin to occur, look upwards and lift your heads, for your deliverance will be at hand."
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail. And you in turn must be a strength to your brothers."
And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
On which Jesus said to him: "Judas, is it by a kiss that you betray the Son of Man?"
But Jesus, answering, said - Let be - as long as this! -- And, touching the ear, he healed him.
And they began to accuse him, saying - This one, found we, perverting our nation, and forbidding to give, tribute unto Caesar, - and affirming himself to be, an anointed king.
He was followed by a large multitude of the people and also of women who beat their breasts and lamented him;
And they will say to the mountains, Come down on us, and to the hills, Be a cover over us.
He said to them, "What things?" "The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene," they replied, "a man who, with his powerful deeds and words, proved to be a prophet before God and all the people;
