So He became higher in rank than the angels, just as the name He inherited is superior to theirs.

And you will fold them up just like a robe, and they will be changed like the changing of one's coat, but you are the same, and your years will never cease."

But to what angel did He ever say: "Just keep your seat at my right hand, until I make your foes a footstool for your feet"?

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;

has been to the God who appointed him, just as Moses was, in all the house of God.

For just as the man who builds a house has greater glory than the house, by just so much is Jesus judged to be worthy of greater glory than Moses.

Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice,

For the Good News is come to us just as it did to them. But the message they heard was of no benefit to them, because they did not share the faith of those who gave heed to it.

For we who have believed are being admitted to that rest, just as He has said: "As in my anger I took oath, they shall not be admitted to my rest," although God's works had been completed at the creation of the world.

he again defines a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), "Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

For all who are admitted to God's Rest rest after their work, just as God did after his.

For our high priest is not one who is incapable of sympathy with our weaknesses, but he has been tempted in every way just as we have, without committing any sin.

Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].

Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.

just as also in another [place] he says, "You [are] a priest {forever} according to the order of Melchizedek,"

for God is too just to his promise not to regard your piety, and the love which you have shewn to the christian religion by the assistance ye have given to the saints, and still continue to give.

Just look at how great this man was! Even Abraham the patriarch himself gave him a tenth of what he had captured!

For we needed just such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;

who does not need, as did the Levitical priests, to offer sacrifices, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; this latter is just what He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

Now were he on earth, he would not even be a priest, since there are here those who present the gifts according to the Law??5 those priests who serve a mere outline and shadow of the heavenly reality, just as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to build the Tabernacle. "See", he says, "that you make everything on the pattern showed you on the mountain."

and yet they officiate in a sanctuary that is a mere copy and shadow of the heavenly one, as Moses, when he was about to make the tent of worship, was warned, for, said He, "See to it that you make it all just like the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Nor yet that, ofttimes, he should be offering himself, - just as the high-priest entereth into the Holy place, year by year, with alien blood; -

And just as men are destined to die once and after that to be judged,

Then I said, 'See, I have come, just as the Scripture writes about me in the book, O God, to do your will.'"

After saying [in the citation] above, “You have neither desired, nor have You taken delight in sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin” (which are offered according to the Law)

"For in just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.

"The just man then will live by faith;" and if he draw back, my soul shall have no delight in him.

It was by faith that Abel offered God a richer sacrifice than Cain did, and thus won from God the record of being 'just,' on the score of what he gave; he died, but by his faith he is speaking to us still.

By [having] faith, Jacob blessed each of Joseph's sons just before he died, and bowed in worship [to God] while leaning on the top of his staff.

Yes, to keep from growing weary and fainthearted, just think of the examples set by Him who has endured so great opposition aimed at Him by sinful men!

to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

And stop neglecting to do good and to be generous, for God is highly pleased with just such sacrifices as these.
