But Jesus looked at them and said, "This is impossible for men, but anything is possible for God."
Jesus said to them: "I solemnly say to you, in the new order of life, when the Son of Man shall take His seat on His glorious throne, you too, who have followed me, will sit on twelve thrones, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
So he said to them, 'You too go out to my vineyard, and I will pay you what is right.' And they went.
About five he went out again and found still others standing around, and he said to them, 'Why have you been standing here all day doing nothing?'
They answered him, 'Because nobody has hired us.' He said to them, 'You too go out to my vineyard.'
"When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, 'Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with the first.'
And as Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside, and said to them while on the road,
He said to them, "You will drink the cup that I am to drink, but seats at my right and at my left are not mine to give, but they will be given to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father."
But Jesus called them to Him and said, "You know that the rulers of the heathen lord it over them, and their great men rule as despots over them.
and said to them, "The Scripture says, 'My house must be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a cave for robbers."
As He saw a fig tree by the roadside, He came to it but found on it nothing but leaves, and said to it, "Never again shall a fig grow on you!" And the fig tree at once withered up.
"But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons, He came to the first and said, 'Son, go and work in my vineyard today.'
Then he came to the second and said the same thing. And he answered, 'I will not.' But afterward he changed his mind and went.
Which of the two did what his father wanted?" They answered, "The second one." Jesus said to them, "I solemnly say to you, the tax-collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of heaven ahead of you.
At last he sent his son to them, for he said to himself, 'They will surely respect my son.'
But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is his heir, come on, let us kill him, and get all that is coming to him!'
Then Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures: 'That stone which the builders threw away has become the cornerstone; this is the work of the Lord and seems wonderful to us!'
Then Jesus again spoke to them in stories, and said:
A second time he sent other slaves, and said to them, 'Tell the invited guests that I have my reception all ready, my bullocks and fatlings are butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding reception!'
After that he said to his slaves, 'My wedding reception is ready, but those invited have proved unworthy.
So he said to him, 'My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding suit on?' But his lips were sealed.
Then the king said to his attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot and throw him out into the darkness on the outside, where he will have to weep and grind his teeth.'
They answered, "Caesar's." Then He said to them, "Pay Caesar, therefore, what belongs to Caesar, and pay God what belongs to God."
"Teacher, Moses said, 'If a man dies without children, his brother must marry his widow and raise up a family for him.'
But did you never read, on the resurrection of the dead, what God said to you,
'The Lord has said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, Until I put your enemies under your feet!'
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to His disciples:
While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to Him by themselves, and said, "Tell us when this is to take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age."
And the thoughtless ones said to the thoughtful ones, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
His master said to him 'Well done, my good and faithful slave, you have been faithful in the use of a small amount; I will put you in charge of a larger one. Come, share your master's joy!'
Then the man who had received the two thousand came up and said, 'Master, you turned over to me two thousand dollars; here are two thousand more I made.'

Then the man who had received the one thousand came up and said, 'Master, I knew you were a hard man, who reaped where you had not sown, who gathered where you had not threshed.
When Jesus had ended this discourse, He said to His disciples,
When the disciples saw it, they were very indignant, and said, "Why such waste?
But Jesus, because He understood them, said to them, "Why do you embarrass the woman? She has done a good deed to me,
and said, "What will you give me to turn Him over to you?" Then they paid him thirty pieces of silver.
On the first day of the Passover Feast the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Where do you want us to get the Passover supper ready for you to eat?"
And He said, "Go into the city, to a certain man, and say to him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover at your house with my disciples."'"
And while they were eating, He said, "I solemnly say to you, one of you is going to betray me."
While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf and blessed it; then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take this and eat it; this is my body."
Then Jesus said to them, "You will all stumble over me tonight, for the Scripture says, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
Jesus said to him, "I solemnly say to you, this very night, before a cock crows, you will disown me three times."
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He said to the disciples, "Sit down here while I go over yonder and pray."
Then He said to them, "My heart is breaking, it almost kills me! You must stay here and keep watching with me."
Then He came back to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, "Could you not then watch with me a single hour?
After that He came back to the disciples and said to them: "Still sleeping! Still resting! See! The time has come for the Son of Man to be betrayed into the hands of sinful men!
And he went straight up to Jesus and said, "Good evening, Rabbi," and affectionately kissed Him.
Jesus said to him, "My friend, do what you came for." Then they came up, laid hands on Jesus, and arrested Him.
Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back where it belongs, for all who wield the sword will die by the sword.
At that time Jesus said to the crowds: "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me, as though I were a robber? Day after day I used to sit teaching in the temple, and you never laid hands on me.
and said, "This man said, 'I can tear down the temple of God, and build it again in three days.'"
Then the high priest arose and said to Him, "Have you no answer to make? What do you say to the evidence that they bring against you?"
But Jesus kept silent. So the high priest said to Him, "I charge you, on your oath, in the name of the living God, tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God."
Then the high priest tore his clothes, and said, "He has uttered blasphemy, What more evidence do we need? You have just heard His blasphemy.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a waiting girl came up to him, and said, "You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean."
But he denied it before them all, and said, "I do not understand what you mean."
Then he went out into the gateway, and another waiting girl saw him, and said to those there, "This fellow was with Jesus the Nazarene."
A few minutes afterward the bystanders came up to Peter and said, "You are surely one of them, too, for your accent gives you away."
and said, "I did wrong in turning an innocent man over to death." But they said, "What is that to us? You must see to that yourself."
The high priests picked up the money and said, "It is not legal to put it into the consecrated treasury, for it is blood money."
Then Pilate said to Him, "Do you not hear how strong is the evidence they are bringing against you?"
Still the governor answered, "Which of the two do you want me to set free for you?" And they said, "Barabbas."
So Pilate, since he saw that he was making no headway with them, but that a riot was about to break out instead, took some water and washed his hands before the crowd, and said, "I am not responsible for this man's death; you must see to it yourselves."
And the high priests, too, made sport of Him, with the scribes and elders, and said,
He has put His trust in God; let God deliver Him now, if He cares for Him, for He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
Some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, "He is calling for Elijah."
But the others said, "Wait, let us see if Elijah does come to deliver Him."
And the army captain and his men, who were keeping guard over Jesus, who felt the earthquake and saw all that was taking place, were terribly frightened, and said, "Surely this was God's Son."
and said, "Sir, we remember that that pretender said while He was living, 'After three days I will rise again.'
Pilate said to them, "Take the military guard and go and make it as secure as you can."
And the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here; He has risen, as He said He would do. Come, get a look at the place where He was lying.
Then Jesus met them Himself, and said, "Good morning!" And they went up to Him and clasped His feet, and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go, tell my brothers to go back to Galilee, and there they will see me."
and said to them, "Tell the people that His disciples came by night, while we were sleeping, and stole Him away.
Then Jesus came up to them, and said, "Full authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
So Jesus said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishermen for catching men."
and found Him, and said to Him, "Everybody is looking for you."
And He said to them, "Let us go somewhere else, to the neighboring towns, to preach in them, too, for that is why I came out here."
And His heart was moved with pity for him, so He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do want to! Be cured!"
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven."
Now Jesus at once felt in His spirit that they were arguing about this, and said, "Why are you arguing to yourselves about this?
But to show you that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth," turning to the paralyzed man He said,
And as He was passing by, He saw Levi, the son of Alpheus, sitting in the tax-collector's office, and He said to him, "Follow me." Then he got up and followed Him.
And when the scribes who belonged to the Pharisees' party saw that He was eating with notorious sinners and tax-collectors, they said to His disciples, "Why does He eat with tax-collectors and notorious sinners?"
Jesus heard it, and said to them, "Not well but sick people have to send for the doctor. It is not upright but sinful people that I have come to invite."
Then He said to them, "The Sabbath was made to serve man and not man to keep the Sabbath.
But He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up in the crowd."
So Jesus looked around at them in anger, because He was pained over their stubbornness of mind, and said to the man, "Hold out your hand." And he held it out, and his hand was cured.
He said so, because they kept saying, "He is under the spell of a foul spirit."
Then looking around at the people sitting about Him, He said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.
