After these things had happened, Paul decided to go through Macedonia and Achaia and then to go on to Jerusalem. "After I have gone there," he told them, "I must also see Rome."

At length the Recorder quieted them down. "Men of Ephesus," he said, "who is there of all mankind that needs to be told that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Diana and of the image which fell down from Zeus?

But they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, by telling them not to circumcise their children or to walk in our customs.

He further told them to provide horses to mount Paul on, so as to bring him safely to Felix the Governor.

Paul told the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men remain onboard, you cannot be saved."

And while it was drawing on to daylight, Paul exhorted them all to partake of food, saying, Ye have passed the fourteenth day watching in expectation without taking food.

All told there were two hundred and seventy-six of us aboard the ship.

When daylight came, they did not recognize the land but sighted a bay with a beach. They planned to run the ship ashore if they could.

When the people who lived there saw the snake hanging from his hand, they told one another, "This man must be a murderer! He may have escaped from the sea, but Justice won't let him live."
