Else what will those do who are immersed for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are they even immersed for them?
If in human fashion I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what is the profit to me? If the dead rise not; "Let us eat and drink; for to-morrow we die."
But some one will say, "How are the dead raised? and with what kind of body do they come?"
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption;
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
yea, we ourselves had in ourselves the sentence of death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God, Who raiseth the dead;
