I have a request to make for them. I make no request for the world, but only for those whom you have given me, for they are yours??10 all that is mine is yours and what is yours is mine??nd they have done me honor.
As long as I was with them I kept them by your power which you gave me, and I protected them, and not one of them was lost (except the one who was destined to be lost), so that what the Scripture says might come true.
"It is not for them only that I make this request. It is also for those who through their message come to believe in me.

This was to fulfil the saying he had uttered, "I have not lost one of those whom you have given me."
Then Simon Peter, who had a sword with him, drew it and struck at the high priest's slave and cut off his right ear. The slave's name was Malchus.
and they took him first to Annas. For he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
Now it was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it was for their interest that one man should die for the people.
Why do you question me? Ask those who have heard me what it was that I said to them. They will know what I have said."
When he said this, one of the attendants who stood near struck him and said, "Is that the way you answer the high priest?"
Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "As you say, I am a king. It was for this that I was born and for this that I came to the world, to give testimony for truth. Everyone who is on the side of truth listens to my voice."
Jesus answered him, "You would have no power at all over me, if it were not given to you from above. So you are less guilty than the man who betrayed me to you."
This made Pilate try to find a way to let him go, but the Jews shouted, "If you let him go, you are no friend of the emperor's! Anyone who calls himself a king utters treason against the emperor!"
So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but let us draw for it, to see who gets it." This was to fulfil what the Scripture says: "They divided my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots." This was what the soldiers did.
So Jesus, seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near, said to his mother, "There is your son!"
So the soldiers went and broke the legs of the first man and then of the other who had been crucified with him.
The man who saw it testifies to it??is testimony is true; he knows that he is telling the truth??o lead you also to believe.
Moreover, it says in another place, "They shall look at the man whom they pierced."
After this, Joseph, of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one, because of his fear of the Jews, asked Pilate to let him remove Jesus' body, and Pilate gave him permission. So Joseph went and took the body down.
And Nicodemus also, who had first come to Jesus at night, went, taking a roll of myrrh and aloes weighing about a hundred pounds.
So she ran away and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple who was dear to Jesus, and said to them, "They have taken the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have put him."
Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first went inside too, and saw and was convinced.
Jesus said to her, "Why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?" She, supposing that he was the gardener, said to him, "If it was you, sir, that carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him away."
But Thomas, one of the Twelve, who was called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came in.
Jesus said to him, "Is it because you have seen me that you believe? Blessed be those who believe without having seen me!"
Then the disciple who was dear to Jesus said to Peter, "It is the Master!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Master, he put on his clothes, for he had taken them off, and sprang into the sea.
Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared to ask him who he was, for they knew it was the Master.
Peter turned and saw following them the disciple who was very dear to Jesus, who at the supper leaned back on Jesus' breast and said, "Master, who is it that is going to betray you?"
It is this disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down, and we know that his testimony is true.
So those who were present asked him, "Master, is this the time when you are going to re-establish the kingdom for Israel?"
and said to them, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into the sky? This very Jesus who has been caught up from you into heaven will come in just the way that you have seen him go up to heaven."
