'Hope' in the Bible
Because there will be false Christs and false prophets, and they will give signs and wonders in the hope of turning even the saints from the true way.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But be loving to those who are against you and do them good, and give them your money, not giving up hope, and your reward will be great and you will be the sons of the Most High: for he is kind to evil men, and to those who have hard hearts.
"Therefore, do not be asking what you are to eat nor what you are to drink; and do not waver between hope and fear.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
Your father Abraham [greatly] rejoiced to see My day (My incarnation). He saw it and was delighted.”
Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
to such an extent that they even carried their sick out into the streets and put them on cots and sleeping pads, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on one of them [with healing power].
Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord, in the hope that the purpose which is in your heart may perhaps be forgiven you.
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:
Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
To those who go on with good works in the hope of glory and honour and salvation from death, he will give eternal life:
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Yet there was always the hope that at last the Creation itself would also be set free from the thraldom of decay so as to enjoy the liberty that will attend the glory of the children of God.
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Who are Israelites: who have the place of sons, and the glory, and the agreements with God, and the giving of the law, and the worship, and the hope offered by God:
And the Jew is not different from the Greek: for there is the same Lord of all, who is good to all who have hope in his name:
in the hope that I can make my people jealous and save some of them.
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
And again, Isaiah says:The root of Jesse will appear,the One who rises to rule the Gentiles;the Gentiles will hope in Him.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
whenever I travel to Spain. For I hope to see you when I pass through, and to be assisted by you for my journey there, once I have first enjoyed your company for a while.
so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift [which comes from the Holy Spirit], as you eagerly wait [with confident trust] for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ [when He returns].
Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
But I have not made use of any of these things: and I am not writing this in the hope that it may be so for me: for it would be better for me to undergo death, than for any man to make this pride of mine of no effect.
Though free from all human control, I have made myself the slave of all in the hope of winning as many converts as possible.
To the weak I have become weak, so as to gain the weak. To all men I have become all things, in the hope that in every one of these ways I may save some.
That is the way that I also seek in everything the approval of all men, not aiming at my own profit, but at that of the many, in the hope that they may be saved.
She bears up under everything; believes the best in all; there is no limit to her hope, and never will she fall.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and He will deliver us. We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again
Now we are writing nothing to you other than what you can read and also understand. I hope you will understand completely—
For with many tears I write to you, and in deep suffering and depression of spirit, not in order to grieve you, but in the hope of showing you how brimful my heart is with love for you.
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
We are cruelly attacked, but not without hope; we are made low, but we are not without help;
Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we seek to persuade people. We are completely open before God, and I hope we are completely open to your consciences as well.
And going even farther than our hope, they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us after the purpose of God.
Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
And I hope you will recognize that we do not fail the test.
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
so that we who had already put our hope in the Messiah might bring praise to His glory.
In whom you, having been given the true word, the good news of your salvation, and through your faith in him, were given the sign of the Holy Spirit of hope,
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Which is that the Gentiles have a part in the heritage, and in the same body, and in the same hope in Christ through the good news,
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon so that I also may be encouraged when I hear news about you.
Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
I am therefore all the more eager to send him, in the hope that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have the less sorrow.

Not as if I had even now got the reward or been made complete: but I go on in the hope that I may come to the knowledge of that for which I was made the servant of Christ Jesus.
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
So do not give up your hope which will be greatly rewarded.
Now faith is the assurance that what we hope for will come about and the certainty that what we cannot see exists.
