'Pain' in the Bible
He told the woman, "I'll greatly increase the pain of your labor during childbirth. It will be painful for you to bear children, "since your trust is turning toward your husband, and he will dominate you."
And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to the voice of your wife and you ate from the tree {from which I forbade you to eat}, the ground [shall be] cursed on your account. In pain you shall eat [from] it all the days of your life.
whom he named Noah, because he said, "May this one comfort us from our work, from pain that is caused by our manual labor, and from the ground that the LORD has cursed."
On the third day, when they were still in pain, two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brothers, took their swords, went into the unsuspecting city, and killed every male.
And when her pain was very great, the woman who was helping her said, Have no fear; for now you will have another son.
For how can I go back to my father if the boy is not with me? I couldn't bear to see my father's pain."
The LORD said, "I have certainly seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry caused by their slave masters. I really do understand their pain,
Peoples have heard, they are troubled; Pain hath seized inhabitants of Philistia.
I also do this to you, and I have appointed over you trouble, the consumption, and the burning fever, consuming eyes, and causing pain of soul; and your seed in vain ye have sowed, and your enemies have eaten it;
The Lord will send wasting disease, and burning pain, and flaming heat against you, keeping back the rain till your land is waste and dead; so will it be till your destruction is complete.
Don't consider your servant a wicked woman, for until now I have spoken from my deep pain and anguish."
Then Samuel said, Make Agag, the king of the Amalekites, come here to me. And Agag came to him shaking with fear. And Agag said, Truly the pain of death is past.
Then he said to me, Come here to my side, and put me to death, for the pain of death has me in its grip but my life is still strong in me.
When all your people Israel pray and ask for help, as they acknowledge their pain and spread out their hands toward this temple,
Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez and said, “I gave birth to him in pain.”
Jabez called out to the God of Israel: “If only You would bless me, extend my border, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not cause any pain.” And God granted his request.
any prayer, any supplication that is for any man, and for all Thy people Israel, when they know each his own plague, and his own pain, and he hath spread out his hands towards this house:
Now it came about in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels came out because of his sickness and he died in great pain. And his people made no fire for him like the fire for his fathers.
In his pain Manasseh asked the Lord his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.
And they sit with him on the earth seven days and seven nights, and there is none speaking unto him a word when they have seen that the pain hath been very great.
I have no peace, no quiet, and no rest; nothing but pain comes on me.

and encourage you with what I have to say; my words of comfort would lessen your pain.
"But if I speak, my pain isn't assuaged; if I refrain from speaking, what do I have to lose?"
My eyes have become dark because of my pain, and all my body is wasted to a shade.
"How often is the lamp of the wicked extinguished? How often does their misfortune come upon them? How often does God apportion pain to them in his anger?
From the town come sounds of pain from those who are near death, and the soul of the wounded is crying out for help; but God does not take note of their prayer.
The night racks my bones; and the pain that gnaws on me will not rest.
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
Though I am right, still I am in pain; my wound may not be made well, though I have done no wrong.
Pain do his ways at all times, On high are Thy judgments before him, All his adversaries -- he puffeth at them.
You have taken notice, for you always see one who inflicts pain and suffering. The unfortunate victim entrusts his cause to you; you deliver the fatherless.
For he has not been unmoved by the pain of him who is troubled; or kept his face covered from him; but he has given an answer to his cry.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
I will be happy and rejoice in your faithfulness, because you notice my pain and you are aware of how distressed I am.
For my life nears its end in pain; my years draw to a close as I groan. My strength fails me because of my sin, and my bones become brittle.

for, in abundance of wisdom is abundance of sadness, and he who addeth knowledge addeth pain.'
For all day long his work produces pain and frustration, and even at night his mind cannot relax! This also is futile!
All his days are in the dark, and he has much sorrow, pain, disease, and trouble.
Remove sorrow from your heart,and put away pain from your flesh,because youth and the prime of life are fleeting.
Who is this, who comes up from the waste places, resting on her loved one? It was I who made you awake under the apple-tree, where your mother gave you birth; there she was in pain at your birth.
There will be no cause of pain or destruction in all my holy mountain: for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the sea is covered by the waters.

Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

Lord, don’t Your eyes look for faithfulness?You have struck them, but they felt no pain.You finished them off,but they refused to accept discipline.They made their faces harder than rock,and they refused to return.
We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
What will you say when the LORD appoints over you as your head those whom you taught to be your allies? Pain will seize you like that seizing a woman about to give birth, will it not?
I have let their widows be increased in number more than the sand of the seas: I have sent against them, against the mother and the young men, one who makes waste in the heat of the day, causing pain and fears to come on her suddenly.
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?
Why did I come from my mother's body to see pain and sorrow, so that my days might be wasted with shame?
