And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

Then he said to them all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

But if God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

And whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.
