And the apostles returned, and told him what great things they had done. And he took them and went aside into a solitary place, nigh to a city called Bethsaida.
“We have no more than five loaves
(For about 5,000 men were there.)
Then He told His disciples,
He told them that the Son of Man must undergo much suffering, and be rejected by the Councillors, and Chief Priests, and Teachers of the Law, and be put to death, and rise on the third day.
Then he told all of them, "If anyone wants to come with me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross every day, and follow me continuously,
Just as Moses and Elijah were leaving, Peter told Jesus, "Master, it's good that we're here! Let's set up three shelters one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." (Peter didn't know what he was saying.)
And when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. And they held their peace, and told no man in those days any of the things which they had seen.
And they were all astonished at the greatness of God.
While everyone was amazed at all the things He was doing,
He told them,
Then [the apostle] John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone driving out evil spirits by [using] your name, so we told him not to, because he was not following [you] with us."
While they were walking along the road, a man told him, "I will follow you wherever you go."
Jesus told him,
He told another man, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
But He told him,
Jesus told him, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."
He told them:
He told them, "I watched Satan falling from heaven like lightning.
Then turning to his disciples in private, he told them, "How blessed are the eyes that see what you see!
Then the next day he gave the lodge keeper two coins [Note: These coins amounted to two days of a farm laborer's pay, or about $140 in 1994] and told him, 'Take care of this [injured] man; and whatever more you have to spend on him I will repay you when I come back [this way] again.'
“The one who showed mercy
Then Jesus told him,
Once Jesus was praying in a certain place. After he had finished, one of his disciples told him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples."
So he told them, "Whenever you pray you are to say, "Father, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come.
Then he told them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, "Friend, let me borrow three loaves of bread.
Knowing their thoughts,
As Jesus was saying this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and told him, "How blessed is the womb that gave birth to you and the breasts that nursed you!"
But the Lord told him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but on the inside you are full of greed and evil.
Then one of the experts in the Law told him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us, too."
Then someone in the crowd told him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me."
But He said to him,
He then told them,
And he told a parable to them, saying, "The land of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.
But God told him, "You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you. Now who will get the things you've accumulated?'
Then Jesus told his disciples, "That's why I'm telling you to stop worrying about your life what you will eat or about your body what you will wear,
And that servant who has been told his Master's will and yet made no preparation and did not obey His will, will receive many lashes.
But he who had not been told it and yet did what deserved the scourge, will receive but few lashes. To whomsoever much has been given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been entrusted, of him a larger amount will be demanded.
Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I toll you, No; but rather dissension.
Then Jesus told the crowds, "When you see a cloud coming in from the west, you immediately say, "There's going to be a storm,' and that's what happens.
There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
And he told this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find [any].
But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, told the crowd, "There are six days when work is to be done. So come on those days to be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
He told them, "Keep on struggling to enter through the narrow door, because I tell you that many people will try to enter, but won't be able to do so.
At that time some Pharisees came and told Him, “Go, get out of here! Herod
He told them, "Go and tell that fox, "Listen! I am driving out demons and healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will finish my work.
Now he told a parable to those who had been invited [when he] noticed how they were choosing for themselves the places of honor, saying to them,
Then he told the man who had invited him, "When you give a luncheon or a dinner, stop inviting only your friends, brothers, relatives, or rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite you in return and you would be repaid.
Now one of those eating with him heard this and told him, "How blessed is the person who will eat in the kingdom of God!"
Then He told him:
Every single one of them began asking to be excused. The first told him, "I bought a field, and I need to go out and inspect it. Please excuse me.'
And the servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame.
Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus. He turned and told them,
So he told them this parable, saying,
The younger one told his father, "Father, give me my share of the estate.' So the father divided his property between them.
Then his son told him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and you. I don't deserve to be called your son anymore.'
And he told him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him in good health.
"His father told him, "My child, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
"Then the servant manager told himself, "What should I do? My master is taking my position away from me. I'm not strong enough to plow, and I'm ashamed to beg.
And He told them:
The Law and the Prophets sufficed until the time of John. Since then the Good News of the Kingdom of God has been told, and everybody has been forcing his way into it.
Jesus told his disciples, "It is inevitable that temptations to sin will come, but how terrible it will be for the person through whom they come!
He won't thank the slave because he did what he was told, will he?
So, you too, after you have done everything you were told to, should say, 'We are unworthy slaves. We have done [only] what we were supposed to do.'"
When He saw them, He told them,
And He told him,
Then He told the disciples:
Then they asked him, "Where, Lord, will this take place?" He told them, "Wherever there's a corpse, there the vultures will gather."
And he told them a parable to [show that] they must always pray and not be discouraged,
For a while the judge refused. But later, he told himself, "I don't fear God or respect people,
And he also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and looked down on {everyone else}:
Now some people were even bringing their infants to Jesus to have him touch them. But when the disciples saw this, they sternly told the people not to do that.
When Jesus heard this, He told him,

Now [while] they were listening to these [things], he went on [and] told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.
He called in ten of his slaves and gave them twenty dollars apiece and told them to do business with his money while he was gone.
"So the king told those standing nearby, "Take the coin away from him and give it to the man who has the ten coins.'
So those who were sent went [and] found [it] just as he had told them.
Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
He told them, "It is written, "My house is to be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a hideout for bandits!"
Then Jesus told them, "Then I won't tell you by what authority I'm doing these things."
Then Jesus began speaking to the people. [Note: And perhaps to the religious leaders as well. See Mark 11:18 with 12:1]. He told them this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, then leased it out to tenant farmers and went to another country for a long time.
And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay [their] hands on him at [that] same hour, and they were afraid of the people, for they knew that he had told this parable with reference to them.
Jesus told them,
Because David himself in the book of Psalms says, "The Lord told my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,
