as for me, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why am I yet persecuted? for then there would not be so much objection to the doctrine of the cross.
Would to God that those who are trying to unsettle you would even have themselves mutilated.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

so that we would praise His glorious, unearned favor, which was freely given to us through the One whom God loved [i.e., Christ].
so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory.
That, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you a Spirit of wisdom and understanding in gaining a personal knowledge of him, -
For we are His workmanship,
Wherefore I desire that ye would not be discouraged at my afflictions on your account, which is your glory.
which is father over all that is called father in heaven and in earth, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
So that he would grant you, according to the wealth of his glory, to be strengthened with power through his Spirit for the inner man.

The one who went down is the same one who went up above all the heavens so that all things would be fulfilled.

For I have no one else with a heart like his who would take such genuine interest in you,
Indeed, he was so sick that he nearly died. However, God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, so that I would not have one grief on top of another.

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
you would not by any pretended revelation, by any discourse or epistle ascrib'd to us, be immediately perplex'd in your minds, or under any concern for the approach of the day of the Lord.
and with every unrighteous deception against those who are perishing, in place of which they did not accept the love of the truth, so that they would be saved.
And this is the reason that God sends them a strong delusion [to influence them]: It is so that they would believe the lie,
In order that should be judged who would not believe in the truth, but were well-pleased with the unrighteousness.
With this purpose in mind, he called you through our proclamation of the gospel so that you would obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah.

When I recall the tears you shed when we parted, I long by night and day to see you again. That would fill me with joy,
That is why I remind you to
No man that warreth entangleth himself with worldly business; and that, because he would please him that hath chosen him to be a soldier.
With gentleness he must correct his opponents, for God might grant them repentance that would lead them to a full knowledge of the truth,

This is a secure rule, and what I would have you constantly maintain, that they who have believed in God, should take care to be examples of virtue, for that is commendable and useful to mankind.
