And the men of Israel said to Gideon, Rule over us, both you and your son, and your son's son also. For you have delivered us from the hand of Midian.

And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the tomb of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you out of their bondage. And I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments.

And I will judge him with a plague and with blood. And I will rain on him, and on his bands, and on the many peoples with him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire and brimstone.

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am Jehovah.

Jehovah is known. He has executed judgment; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. A meditation. Selah.

And I will execute judgments on Moab; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

And I will make Pathros a ruin, and will set fire in Zoan, and will do judgments in No.

And I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgments which I have done, and My hand that I have laid on them.

For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O Jehovah, are our Father, our Redeemer; Your name is from everlasting.

And David blessed Jehovah before all the congregation. And David said, Blessed are You, Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, just and true are Your ways, O King of saints.

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; Jehovah is gracious and full of pity.

He has made everything beautiful in His time; also He has set eternity in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end.

so that I may cry out with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wonderful works.

O Jehovah my God, many things You have done, Your wonderful works and Your thoughts which are toward us; they cannot be set in order to You; I will declare and speak, for they are more than can be numbered.

I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well.

As for God, His way is perfect. The Word of Jehovah is tried. He is a shield to all those who seek refuge in Him.

He sends forth His Commandment on earth; His Word runs very swiftly.

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.

Because the ground was cracked, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed; they covered their heads.

O Jehovah, to You will I cry; for the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.

And I have also withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest. And I caused rain to fall on one city and caused it not to rain on another city; one piece was rained on, and the piece on which it did not rain dried up.

And I called for a drought in the land, and on the mountains, and on the grain, and on the new wine, and on the oil, and on that which the ground brings forth, and on men, and on cattle, and on all the labor of your hands.

Elijah was a man of like passion as we are. And he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for the time of three years and six months.

He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

And those that died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

And Moses said to Aaron, Take a fire-pan, and put fire in it from the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make an atonement for them. For wrath has gone out from Jehovah. The plague has begun.

then Jehovah will make your plagues remarkable, and the plagues of your seed great and persistent plagues; with evil and long-lasting sicknesses.

And if you walk contrary to Me, and will not listen to Me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

even those men that brought up the evil report upon the land died by the plague before Jehovah.

If others have a share of this authority over you, rather should not we? But we have not used this authority, but we endured all things lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

And pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough; and they are shepherds who cannot understand. They all look to their own way, every one for his gain, to his own end.

He covets greedily all the day long; but the righteous gives and spares not.

we shall find all precious goods; we shall fill our houses with plunder;

So are the ways of everyone who gains unjust gain; it takes away its owners' life.

Blessed are the peoples who are so; blessed are the peoples to whom Jehovah is their God.

He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.

He who handles a matter wisely shall find good, and whoever trusts in Jehovah, happy is he.

She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her; and happy is everyone who keeps her.

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

You shall not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah your God for any vow. For even both these are hateful to Jehovah your God.

He shall not take a widow or a divorced woman, or profane, or a harlot, but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

You shall not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a whore, lest the land go whoring, and the land become full of wickedness.

And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with a harlot?

Then there came two women, harlots, to the king, and stood before him.

And the sons of Israel ate, all who had come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the uncleanness of the nations of the land, in order to seek Jehovah, the God of Israel.

But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. Yes, and he made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out from before the sons of Israel.

But when you pray, do not babble vain words, as the nations. For they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard.

The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; their foot is caught in the net which they hid.

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate on a vain thing?

And I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgments which I have done, and My hand that I have laid on them.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then they said among the nations, Jehovah has done great things with them.

and walked in the statutes of the nations whom Jehovah cast out from before the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which the nations had made.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

You shall not be joined with them in burial, because you ruined your land and killed your people; the seed of evildoers shall never be famous.

What is it to you that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the teeth of the sons are dull?

And they that are left of you shall putrefy in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies. And also they shall putrefy with them in the iniquities of their fathers.

We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covers us; for we have sinned against Jehovah our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah our God.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his son Hezekiah reigned in his place.

In those days Hezekiah was sick to death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, So says Jehovah, Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.

And it happened in the fourth year of King Hezekiah, the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it.

And they said to him, So says Hezekiah, This is a day of trouble and of rebuke and contempt. For the sons have come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring forth.

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten steps. No, but let the shadow go backward ten steps.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers. And Manasseh his son reigned in his place.

In that day there shall be on the bells of the horses, HOLY TO JEHOVAH. And the pots in Jehovah's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The Way of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it. But He shall be with them; the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err in it.

And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it an inscription of the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO JEHOVAH.

My brothers, I do not count myself to have taken possession, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

However Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and has had mercy on you.

Then He said to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her into his own home.

to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.

I went out full, and Jehovah has brought me back empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since Jehovah has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?

After that He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

My soul breaks for the longing that it has to Your judgments at all times.

With my soul I desired You in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought Him with their whole desire. And He was found by them, and Jehovah gave them rest all around.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God; I will seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You, as in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

I opened my mouth and panted; for I longed for Your Commandments.

In the meantime, when there had gathered together an innumerable crowd of people, so as to trample on one another, He began to say to His disciples first, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

for as he thinks in his heart, so is he; Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

When he makes his voice gracious, do not believe him; for seven hateful things are in his heart.

For they do not know to do right, says Jehovah, those who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

But they do not know the plans of Jehovah, nor do they understand His counsel. For He has gathered them like the sheaf to the floor.

They did not know the way of peace, and there is no judgment in their paths. They have made crooked paths for themselves; whoever goes in them shall not know peace.

So I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they do not know the way of Jehovah, nor the judgment of their God.

For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

You know that being led away, you nations were led to dumb idols.

Has a nation changed their gods who are yet no gods? But My people have changed their Glory for that which does not profit.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Jehovah made the heavens.

Then shall the cities of Judah and the people of Jerusalem go and cry to the gods to whom they offer incense. But they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

And their land is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.

For though there are those who are called gods, whether in Heaven or in earth (as there are many gods and many lords),

Shall a man make gods to himself, and they are no gods?

This is the Bread which comes down from Heaven, so that a man may eat of it and not die.

And they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel. And my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

And the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.

And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. And according to the command of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

And the second lot came forth to Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families. And their inheritance was inside the inheritance of the sons of Judah.

And when Joshua had let the people go, the sons of Israel left, each man to his inheritance, to possess the land.

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem for myself, lest I mar my own inheritance. You redeem my right to yourself, for I cannot redeem.

So Hanameel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the Word of Jehovah and said to me, Please buy my field in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the right to redeem is yours. Buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the Word of Jehovah.

therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

Give glory to Jehovah your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, setting up deep gloom.

Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down into ruin.

Yes, you shall be as one who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as one who lies upon the top of a mast,

So their way shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their judgment, says Jehovah.

Because, even because they made My people go astray, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and he builds a wall, and lo, others daubed it with lime. Say to those who daub with lime, yes, it shall fall; there will be a flooding rain; and you, O hailstones, shall fall, and a stormy wind will break.

And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the wind blew and beat on that house. And it fell, and great was its fall.

Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; that the opponent not deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.

Then they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb. And they killed Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and they killed Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. And they pursued Midian and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.

And he brought down the people to the water. And Jehovah said to Gideon, Everyone who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set him apart; also everyone who bows down upon his knees to drink.

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as Jehovah had said to him. And so it was, because he feared his father's household and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day. So he did it by night.

And Gideon said to God, If You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said,

But the man would not stay that night, but he rose up and left, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem. And there were with him two saddled asses. His concubine also was with him.

And David came to his house at Jerusalem. And the king took the ten women, his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them but did not go in to them. And they were shut up till the day of their death, living in widowhood.

Be afflicted, and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness.

And David said to Joab and to all the people with him, Tear your clothes and gird yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And King David followed the bier.

And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those playing the harp and the organ.

And the men did the work faithfully. And the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the Levites, all who were skillful with instruments of music;

Let our lord now command his servants before you to seek out a man who knows to play on a harp. And it shall be, when the evil spirit from God is on you, then he shall play with his hand, and it shall be well with you.

So the number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in the songs of Jehovah, all that were skillful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

Am I a God near, says Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

He is near who justifies Me; who will contend with Me? Let us stand together; who is master of My judgment? Let him come near Me.

For the poor shall never cease out of the land. Therefore, I command you saying, You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

I will also leave in your midst a poor and weak people, and they shall trust in the name of Jehovah.

And the men came in together with the women, as many as were willing-hearted, bringing bracelets and earrings, and rings and ornaments, all jewels of gold. And everyone who offered waved a wave offering of gold to Jehovah.

And we bring an offering for Jehovah, what every man has found, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before Jehovah.

And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.

But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, and of her that stays in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and clothing. And you shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters. And you shall plunder the Egyptians.

And Hezekiah rejoiced over them, and let them see the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?

You have not brought Me the lamb of your burnt offerings; nor have you honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not caused you to serve with an offering, nor wearied you with incense.

a woman came to Him, having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on His head as He reclined. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for their owners to their hurt.

Observe the month Abib, and keep the Passover to Jehovah your God. For in the month of Abib, Jehovah your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night.

Therefore purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.

And you shall eat of it this way, with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in a hurry. It is Jehovah's passover.

And they killed the passover lamb, and the priests sprinkled from their hands, and the Levites skinned them.

And they pulled up stakes from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the next day after the Passover the sons of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

And they killed the Passover on the fourteenth of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were ashamed and made themselves pure, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of Jehovah.

For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them pure. And they slaughtered the passover lamb for all the sons of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.

They did not know the way of peace, and there is no judgment in their paths. They have made crooked paths for themselves; whoever goes in them shall not know peace.

Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it.

Good understanding gives favor, but the way of traitors is ever flowing.

The way of the wicked is hateful to Jehovah, but He loves him who pursues righteousness.

And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

And shall not God avenge His own elect who cry day and night to Him, though He has been long-suffering over them?

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

and to make you high above all nations which He has made, in praise and in name and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to Jehovah your God, even as He has spoken.

And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Even as Simon has declared how God at the first visited the nations to take out of them a people for His name.

For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah has chosen you to be a peculiar people to Himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.

And now if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all the nations; for all the earth is Mine.

A song of David, which he sang to Jehovah, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite. O Jehovah my God, in You I put my trust; save me from all who pursue me, and deliver me,

Many are my persecutors and my enemies, yet I do not turn aside from Your testimonies.

SHIN: Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in fear of Your Word.

For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has beaten my life down to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, as those long dead.

O Jehovah, You know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on those who seek to hurt me. Do not take me away in Your long-suffering; know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

We are pursued on our necks; we grow weary; rest is not given to us.

Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

He plots evil on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not hate evil.

He who plots to do evil shall be called a master of wicked thoughts.

And they said, There is no hope; but we will walk after our own ways, and we will each one do according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.

Do not those who think evil go astray? But mercy and truth shall be to those who think of good.

Also the weapons of the fool are evil; he thinks of wicked ways to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

And He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who plot evil and give wicked advice in this city;

Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

He plots evil on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not hate evil.

If it pleases the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed. And I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those who have charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

Also the weapons of the fool are evil; he thinks of wicked ways to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes on him with his teeth.

For the poor shall never cease out of the land. Therefore, I command you saying, You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

But if you will go, do it! Be strong for the battle, for God shall make you fall before the enemy, for God has power to help and to throw down.

He quiets the sea with His power, and by His understanding He shatters the proud.

God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God.

Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power. And He does not by any means acquit the guilty. Jehovah has His way in the tempest and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, having been unvoiced during eternal times;

even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples,

And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father, who is in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, as in Heaven, so also on the earth.

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. And many incenses were given to him, so that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar before the throne. And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God from the angel's hand.

And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having harps and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

And there was also a son born to Seth, and he called his name Enos. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble,

But in his place he shall honor the god of forces; and a god whom his fathers did not know, he shall honor with gold and silver, and with precious stones and desirable things.

A bribe is like a precious stone in the eyes of him who has it; wherever he turns, he is prudent.

And he put them under guard in the house of the chief of the executioners, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.

And they put him under guard because it had not been clearly said what should be done to him.

But this is a people robbed and spoiled; all of them snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison-houses; they have been taken, and none delivers them; a prize, and none says, Give back.

And he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah. And the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

And they were offended in Him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.

But they mocked the messengers of God and despised His words, and ill-treated His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah arose against His people, until there was no healing.

And He said, Hear now My words. If there is a prophet among you, I Jehovah will make Myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the contempt of those who are at ease, with the scorn of the proud.

he is proud, knowing nothing. He is sick concerning doubts and arguments, from which comes envy, strife, evil speakings, evil suspicions,

The proud have dug pits for me, which are not according to Your Law.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they perverted my cause with lying; I will think on Your Commandments.

He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

Surely I have behaved and have quieted my soul, as one weaned by its mother; my soul on me is like one weaned.

And He gives quietness, who then can condemn? And when He hides His face, who can behold Him? And it may be against a nation and a man together;

It is good that one should hope for the salvation of Jehovah, even in silence.

who were a grief of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.

And before he had finished speaking, it happened, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

They buried Abraham and his wife Sarah there, and they buried Isaac and his wife Rebekah. And I buried Leah there;

And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, She is my sister. For he feared to say, My wife; lest the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah, because she was beautiful of form.

And Rebekah spoke to her son Jacob, saying, Behold, I heard your father speak to your brother Esau, saying,

Jehovah keeps the simple; I was brought low, and He helped me.

A Song of degrees; of David. O Jehovah, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes lofty; nor have I walked in great things, nor in things too wondrous for me.

Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; him who has a high look and a proud heart, I will not allow.

For I have heard the slander of many; fear is on every side; because of their plottings together against me, they planned to take away my life.

When my spirit fainted within me, then You knew my path. In the way in which I walked they have secretly laid a snare for me.

The proud have hidden cords and a trap for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

Hear this, O priests, and listen, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare on Mizpah and a net spread on Tabor.

The proud have dug pits for me, which are not according to Your Law.

For among My people are found wicked ones; they lie in wait, as one who sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

For without cause they have spread their net for me in a pit-net; without cause they have dug for my soul.

The wicked have laid a snare for me; yet I do not go astray from Your Commandments.

Keep me from the traps which they have laid for me, and the snares of the workers of evil.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when You suddenly bring a raiding party on them. For they have dug a pit to take me, and have hidden snares for my feet.

As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not becoming for a fool.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth; also to the shower of rain, and to the shower of heavy rains in its strength.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada from Kabzeel, a son of a mighty man, great in deeds. He killed two lion-like men of Moab. He went down also and killed a lion in the middle of a pit in time of snow.

Does the snow of Lebanon forsake the rock of the field? Or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?

He gives snow like wool; He scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.

torrents black from ice, in which the snow hides itself.

Have you entered into the storehouses of the snow? Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

When you sit down to eat with a ruler, look carefully at what is before you; and put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.

Have you found honey? Eat only as much as is enough for you, lest you be filled with it and vomit it.

meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.

Therefore they gathered and filled twelve handbaskets with fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over to those who had eaten.

And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath to the river of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days, fourteen days.

Then they made a supper there for Him. And Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him.

And Levi made a great feast in his own house for Him. And there was a great company of tax-collectors and of others who were reclining with them.

And a convenient day came, when Herod made a supper to great men on his birthday, and to the chiliarchs, and to the first ones of Galilee.

And he prepared a great feast for them. And when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. And the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

And they were with David three days, eating and drinking. For their brothers had prepared food for them.

And when these days had expired, the king made a feast to all the people who were present in Shushan the palace, both to great and small, for seven days in the court of the garden of the king's palace.

And He said to them, Now draw out and carry it to the master of the feast. And they carried it.

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

The words of his mouth are evil and deceit; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body and inflaming the course of nature, and being inflamed by hell.

The butterings of his mouth were forked, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Therefore also it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner Stone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him shall never be ashamed."

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.

Afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones among antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires.

laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom every building having been fitly framed together, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord; in whom you also are built together for a dwelling place of God through the Spirit.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight so that I might not be delivered to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here.

And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

Nor shall they say, Lo here! or, behold, there! For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.

and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

in order to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, so that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

But that sown on the good ground is this: he who hears the Word and understands; who also bears fruit and produces one truly a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty.

And for this cause we thank God without ceasing, that when you received the Word of hearing, of God, you welcomed it as the Word of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also effectually works in you who believe.

But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Those that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flowering;

And all trees for food shall go up by the torrent, on its bank on this side, and on that side. Its leaf shall not fade, nor its fruit fail. It will bear by its months, because its waters come out from the sanctuary. And its fruit shall be for food, and its leaf for healing.

And some fell on the good ground and yielded fruit, indeed one a hundredfold, and one sixty, and one thirty.

And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. And you shall be careful to do these statutes.

And he said, If you will carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His Laws, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am Jehovah who heals you.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, so that you should do so in the land where you go to possess it.

These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which Jehovah made between Him and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

And if you will walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.

Your Precepts have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor his image, nor had received his mark on their foreheads, nor in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way did the Spirit of Jehovah go from me to speak to you?

And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so?

behold, I will bring again the shadow of the steps, which has gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten steps backward. So the sun returned ten steps, by which steps it had gone down.

Then Joshua spoke to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun! Stand still on Gibeon! And, moon, stand still in the valley of Aijalon!

and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded,

at midday, along the highway, O king, I and those with me saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun; shining around me.

Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,

The sun also arises, and the sun goes down, and hurries to its place where it arose.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much He is also the Mediator of a better covenant, which was built upon better promises.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Therefore it was necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves were purified with better sacrifices than these.

And this word, "Yet once more," signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

for God had provided some better thing for us, that they should not be made perfect without us.

And Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, unto the Oak of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

And the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in a piece of ground which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of silver. And it became the inheritance of the sons of Joseph.

And Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram. And he pitched his tent in front of the city.

And his brothers went to feed his father's flock in Shechem.

And when they bring you into the synagogues, and to rulers and authorities, take no thought as to how or what thing you shall answer, or what you shall say.

And I punished them often in every synagogue; I compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly furious against them, I persecuted them even to the outside cities.

His parents spoke these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

And from the Philistines they brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. Also the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.

And when they had come to Capernaum, those who received the didrachmas came to Peter and said, Does your master not pay the didrachmas?

And King Ahasuerus laid a tax on the land and on the isles of the sea.

Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

When you sit down to eat with a ruler, look carefully at what is before you; and put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.

Have you found honey? Eat only as much as is enough for you, lest you be filled with it and vomit it.

meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

As a thorn goes up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trampled under foot;

Awake, drunkards, and weep; and howl, all drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

For as thorns are woven together, and as their drunkards are drunken, they shall be devoured like stubble fully dry.

But I, in the abundance of Your grace, I will come into Your house; I will worship in Your fear toward Your holy temple.

A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations have come into Your inheritance; they have defiled Your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth's sake; for You have magnified Your Word above all Your name.

And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and talk of Your power,

You are My witnesses, says Jehovah, and My servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me no God was formed, nor shall there be after Me.

In that day your mouth shall be open to him who has escaped, and you shall speak and be no more dumb. And you shall be a sign to them, and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

so that I may cry out with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wonderful works.

My tongue shall speak Your Word, for all Your Commandments are righteousness.

And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of those who stutter shall be ready to speak plainly.

And if you will walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.

Your Precepts have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your Commandments.

And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart.

Therefore you shall keep all the commandments which I command you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land where you go to possess it,

But He answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied to these, saying, Behold, the Lord came with myriads of His saints, to do judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly of them concerning all their ungodly works which they ungodly did, and concerning all the hard things ungodly sinners spoke against Him.

And I saw the dead, the small and the great, stand before God. And books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit on the throne of His glory. And all nations shall be gathered before Him. And He shall separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats.

And from the Philistines they brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. Also the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.

And King Ahasuerus laid a tax on the land and on the isles of the sea.

Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.

Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me; yet Your Commandments are my delight.

Why do you glory in your valley, your flowing valleys, O backsliding daughter? she trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come to me?

For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me. Your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you; and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is no one else.

Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, who are noted as leader of the nations. And the house of Israel came to them.

And He fenced it, and gathered out the stones of it, and planted it with choice vines, and built a tower in its midst, and hewed out a wine vat in it; and He looked for it to produce grapes. And it produced wild grapes.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them; but the crookedness of traitors shall destroy them.

And I, in my integrity You uphold me; and You set me before Your face forever.

they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

He teaches my hands to war, so that my hands may bend a bow of bronze.

Though an army should camp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this I am trusting.

And another, a red horse, went out. And power was given to him sitting on it, to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. And there was given to him a great sword.

They shall not hunger nor thirst; nor shall the heat nor sun strike them; for He who has mercy on them shall lead them; even by the springs of water He shall guide them.

O Jehovah, the Hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Jehovah, the Fountain of living waters.

And I looked, and behold, a windstorm came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire flashing itself, and a brightness to it all around, and out of its midst, like the color of polished bronze out of the middle of the fire.

And it happened when Jehovah was to take Elijah up into Heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

Out of the storeroom comes the tempest; and cold from scattering winds.

Before your pots can feel the thorns, whether green or glowing, He shall sweep it away.

He shuts his eyes to think of perverse things; moving his lips, he brings evil to pass.

Also the weapons of the fool are evil; he thinks of wicked ways to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

And He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who plot evil and give wicked advice in this city;

And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and all that he killed, all the prophets with the sword.

And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he also took Jezebel, the daughter of Eth-baal king of the Sidonians, for a wife. And he went and served Baal, and worshiped him.

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in a part of Jezreel, and none shall be there to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.

for it happened when Jezebel cut off the prophets of Jehovah, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

And Jehu had come to Jezreel. And Jezebel heard, and had painted her face and adorned her head, and looked out at a window.

And Jehovah also spoke of Jezebel saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

And his wife Jezebel came to him and said to him, Why is your spirit so sad that you are not eating food?

And they came again and told him. And he said, This is the Word of Jehovah which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel.

And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, judged Israel at that time.

And Deborah said to Barak, Up! For this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,

ALEPH: Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the Law of Jehovah.

As for God, His way is perfect. The Word of Jehovah is tried. He is a shield to all those who seek refuge in Him.

He sends forth His Commandment on earth; His Word runs very swiftly.

Hear, O, Israel. Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart. read more.
And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates. And it shall be when Jehovah your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and good cities which you did not build, and houses full of every good thing which you did not fill, and wells which are dug, but which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be full, you shall be on guard lest you forget Jehovah who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.

The Law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of Jehovah is sure, making the simple wise. The Precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the Commandments of Jehovah are pure, giving light to the eyes. The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true and righteous altogether, read more.
more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. And Your servant is warned by them; in keeping them there is great reward.

And taking them in that hour of the night, he washed from their stripes. And he was baptized, he and all his, immediately.

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself believed, and his whole house.

He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being translated, the Christ).

Return to your own house and declare what God has done to you. And he went his way and proclaimed throughout all the city what great things Jesus had done to him.

And when they had gone around the day of feasting, Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts. So Job did always.

And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go out the Law, and the Word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples,

All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you; the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you. They shall come up on My altar pleasing Me, and I will glorify the house of My glory.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God, and be more ready to hear than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they do not know that they are doing evil.

And He said to those who sold doves, Take these things away from here. Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise.

A Song of degrees. Behold, bless Jehovah, all servants of Jehovah, who stand by night in the house of Jehovah.

saying to them, It is written, "My house is a house of prayer," but you have made it a den of thieves.

For He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head. And He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was covered with zeal like a cloak.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, who are noted as leader of the nations. And the house of Israel came to them.
