And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men-children alive?

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? Why is it that ye have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.

And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou dealt ill with this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

Wherefore the people stove with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why strive ye with me? Wherefore do ye tempt Jehovah?

And when Moses father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand about thee from morning unto even?

And Moses besought Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, that thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
