but to the son he saith, "God is thy throne for ever and ever; the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of equity.

and this is attested by a certain writer, who says, "what is man that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man that thou visitest him?

if you are to endure chastisement, God treats you as his children: for where's the son whom his father does not chastise?

but if you were exempted from that discipline which others are subject to, then are you bastards, and not sons.

was not our father Abraham treated as just, in consequence of his actions, when he had attempted to sacrifice his son upon the altar?

the church at Babylon, who are likewise Christians, and Mark my son salute you.

for he received this honourable and glorious testimony from his father, when the voice broke out from the magnificent splendor, in these words, "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."

what we have seen and heard, we declare unto you, that ye also may be of the same society with us: and truly associated with the father, and with his son Jesus Christ.

if we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: now this is the testimony, which God has given us of his son.

he that believeth on the son of God, hath the testimony of God thereto: he that does not believe God, impeaches his veracity, because he does not believe the testimony that God gave of his son.

Now what is testified, is this, that God has given to us eternal life: and this life is by his son.

he that receives the son, is intitled to life; and he that does not receive the son of God, has no title to life.

these things have I written to you, that you may know that you have eternal life, by your believing on the name of the son of God.

Grace, mercy, and peace be with you from God the father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ the son of the father, in consequence of your sincere piety, and social virtue.

no renegado that deserts the doctrine of Christ, has any interest in the deity: he that adheres to the doctrine of Christ, has an interest both in the father, and in the son.

and in the midst of the seven candlesticks, one who resembled the son of man, cloathed with a garment down to the foot, and girt below the breast with a girdle of gold.

the lamp shall no more be lighted in thee; the bridal-song shall be heard there no more: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; all nations were seduc'd by thy enchantments.

he that overcomes, shall inherit these things: I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
