And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. And they desired him to stay there some days.

Jesus answered, I tell thee of a truth, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.

and finding some disciples there, he said unto them, Have ye received the holy Spirit since ye embraced the faith? And they said unto him, Nay, we had not even heard whether the holy Spirit be yet given. And he said unto them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into the baptism of John. Then said Paul, John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people, that they should believe in Him that was coming after him, that is, in Christ Jesus. read more.
And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And as Paul laid his hands on them, the holy Spirit came upon them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And the men were in all about twelve.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, rivers of living water shall flow from within him. (This He spake of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive; for the holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily verily I tell thee, Unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born? That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. Do not wonder that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Now there was a man of the pharisees, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler among the Jews: who came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for none can do these miracles which thou dost, unless God be with him. I assure thee, that we speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; though ye receive not our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I should tell you heavenly ones? For no one hath ascended up into heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth on Him may not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him might not perish, but have everlasting life: for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved by Him. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is already condemned; because he hath not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doth evil, hateth the light; and he cometh not to the light, least his deeds should be reproved. But he that acts according to truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I might not have been delivered to the Jews: but my kingdom is not from hence.

But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor doth what is corruptible inherit incorruption.

Neither shall they say, Behold it is here, or behold it is there; for the kingdom of God is within you.

and they testify of me: and yet ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

Verily, verily I say unto you, he, that heareth my word, and believeth in Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come under condemnation; but is passed from death to life. Verily, verily I tell you, that the time is coming, and even now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given also to the Son to have life in Himself.

Jesus then told her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, shall live again. And every one that is alive, and believeth in me, shall never die.

He hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I declare unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life: for if we have been planted together in the resemblance of his death, so shall we be also of his resurrection.

But now being set free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For who of you that hath a mind to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expence, whether he hath wherewithal to perfect it? least having laid a foundation and not being able to finish, all that see it, should deride him, saying, this man began to build and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to engage with another king in battle, doth not sit down first and consult, whether he be able with ten thousand men to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? and if not, while he is yet far off, he sendeth an embassy, and desireth conditions of peace. Therefore said they unto Him, What should we do, that we may work the works approved of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him, whom He hath sent.

While ye have the light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and then went away, and concealed himself from them.

And behold, there came one to Him, and said, Good master, what good shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And He said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou desirest to enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto Him, Which? For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
