'Off' in the Bible
He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.
“Let us tear off their chainsand free ourselves from their restraints.”
Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
They have shut off their calloused [heart]; [with] their mouth they speak arrogantly.
because all his judgments were always before me, and I did not cast off his statutes.
I chased my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back until they were finished [off].
As to mine enemies -- Thou hast given to me the neck, As to those hating me -- I cut them off.
And Thou, O Jehovah, be not far off, O my strength, to help me haste.
Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
Turn aside from off me Thy stroke, From the striving of Thy hand I have been consumed.
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
[He] makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks [the] bow and cuts off [the] spear. [The] wagons [of war] he burns with fire.
{They themselves saw} [it], so they were astonished. They were terrified; they ran off.
He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.
I will hurry off to a place that is safe from the strong wind and the gale."
To the Overseer. -- 'On the Dumb Dove far off.' -- A secret treasure of David, in the Philistines' taking hold of him in Gath. Favour me, O God, for man swallowed me up, All the day fighting he oppresseth me,
O God, break their teeth in their mouth. Break off [the] fangs of [the] young lions, O Yahweh.
May they flow away like rain water that runs off, may they become like someone who shoots broken arrows.
{To the chief Musician upon Shushaneduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand.} O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
God has spoken in his sanctuary: "I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem; the Valley of Succoth I will measure off.
Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
As smoke is driven off, you will drive [them] off. As wax melts before fire, [the] wicked will perish before God.
They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: They that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: That which I took not away I have to restore.
Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
{Maschil of Asaph.} O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, and drink.
He cutteth off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
Has God forgotten to have compassion? Or has he closed off his mercies in anger? Selah
The boar out of the forest doth waste it, and the beast of the field doth feed off it.

Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.
LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
“But I will not break off My lovingkindness from him,Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.
But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
For we are brought to an end by your anger, and we hasten [off] by your wrath.
For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
{Each morning}, I will destroy all [the] wicked of [the] land, cutting off from the city of Yahweh all evildoers.
I say, "My God, do not carry me off from my life in the middle of my days." Your years [continue] throughout all generations.
Your shout made the waters retreat; at the sound of your thunderous voice they hurried off --
The king sent men to take off his chains; even the ruler of the people, who let him go free.
He brought them out of the utter darkness, and tore off their shackles.

They compassed me about as bees, They have been extinguished as a fire of thorns, In the name of Jehovah I surely cut them off.
Roll off from me reproach and contempt; for I observe thy testimonies.
Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions.
Cut me off hath my zeal, For mine adversaries forgot Thy words.
Near have been my wicked pursuers, From Thy law they have been far off.
I have wandered off like a lost sheep. Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands.
But tossed Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea,For His lovingkindness endures forever;
Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
When their rulers will be thrown offthe sides of a cliff,the people will listen to my words,for they are pleasing.
And in Thy kindness cuttest off mine enemies, And hast destroyed all the adversaries of my soul, For I am Thy servant!
Keep far from off her thy way, And come not near unto the opening of her house,
He will not accept any ransom [offered to buy him off from demanding full punishment];Nor will he be satisfied though you offer him many gifts (bribes).
Leave off, ye simple ones, and live; And walk in the way of understanding.
Hope put off is a weariness to the heart; but when what is desired comes, it is a tree of life.
A wise person is cautious and turns from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is overconfident.
Severe punishment awaits anyone who wanders off the path anyone who despises reproof will die.
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
A fool does not delight in understanding,but only wants to show off his opinions.
