Rejoice the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

O God, the proud have risen up against me, and a company of violent men have sought after my soul, and have not set thee before them.

Thou carry them away as with a flood. They are as a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up.

LORD upholds all who fall, and raises up all those who are bowed down.

LORD opens [the eyes of] the blind. LORD raises up those who are bowed down. LORD loves the righteous.

LORD builds up Jerusalem. He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.

He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

And he has lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his sanctified, even of the sons of Israel, a people near to him. Praise ye LORD.

Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, and whole, as those who go down into the pit.

My son, if thou will receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee,
