And there came a great cry, and the scribes of the Pharisees' part having arisen, were striving, saying, 'No evil do we find in this man; and if a spirit spake to him, or a messenger, we may not fight against God;'
And the night after, the Lord came to his side and said, Be of good heart, for as you have been witnessing for me in Jerusalem, so will you be my witness in Rome.
And when it was day, the Jews came together and put themselves under an oath that they would take no food or drink till they had put Paul to death.
And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.
Now therefore ye with the council signify to the tribune, that he bring him down to you to-morrow, as though ye would more accurately examine the things concerning him: and we, before he came near, are ready to kill him.
But the son of Paul’s sister, hearing about their ambush, came and entered the barracks and reported it to Paul.
This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.
So the armed men, as they were ordered, took Paul and came by night to Antipatris.
Who, when they came to Caesarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.
As soon as Felix had read the letter, he enquired to what province Paul belonged, and, learning that he came from Cilicia, he said:

But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
Three days after Festus came to the province he went from Caesarea up to Jerusalem.
And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.
And, some days having gone by, Agrippa the king and Bernice came down to Caesarea, to salute Festus.
about whom when I came to Jerusalem the high priests, and elders of the Jews informed me, and desired to have judgment against him.
So they came back here with me, and I made no delay to take my seat on the judge's bench, and ordered the man to be brought in.
But, when his accusers came forward, they brought no charge of wrong-doing such as I had expected;
"I should like to hear the man myself," said Agrippa. "to-morrow," replied Festus, "you shall." Accordingly, the next day, Agrippa and Bernice came in state

Then Festus said, “King Agrippa and all you gentlemen present with us, you see this man [Paul] about whom all the Jewish people appealed to me, both at Jerusalem and here, loudly insisting that he ought not to live any longer.
And when we had all gone down on the earth, a voice came to me, saying in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why are you attacking me so cruelly? It is hard for you to go against the impulse which is driving you.
And the next day came we to Sidon, and Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends, and to refresh himself.
and, sailing across the sea which is off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came down to Myra, a city of Lycia.
And there the captain came across a ship of Alexandria, sailing for Italy, and put us in it.
Sailing slowly for many days, we came with difficulty as far as Cnidus. Since the wind did not allow us to approach it, we sailed along the south side
and, with difficulty coasting it, we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near to which was the city of Lasea.
And when the south wind came softly, being of the opinion that their purpose might be effected, they let the ship go and went sailing down the side of Crete, very near to the land.
But not long after there came down it a hurricane called Euroclydon.
And we came unto an isle named Cauda; And had much work to come by a boat,
It was then, when they had gone a long time without food, that Paul came forward, and said: "My friends, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and so incurred this injury and damage.
For this night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve came to me,
When the fourteenth night came, we were drifting in the Adriatic Sea,
they threw the line and sounded twenty fathom water: a little further they sounded again, and came to fifteen fathom:
And, when day came, they could not recognise, the land; but perceived, a certain bay, having a beach, - upon which they were minded, if they could, safely to bring the ship.
and, the rest, some, on planks, and, some, on other things from the ship, -- and, so, it came to pass, that, all, were brought safely through, on to the land.
As Paul gathered a bundle of brushwood and put it on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself to his hand.
But they expected that he would have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but when they were long in expectation and beheld nothing amiss came to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
After this, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.

And when we came to Syracuse, we tarried there three days,
whence, going round, we reached Rhegium; and, after one day, a south wind springing up, on the second day, we came to Puteoli;

And, when from thence the brethren heard the tidings concerning us, they came to meet us, as far as The Market of Appius and the Three Taverns - seeing whom, Paul thanked God, and took courage.
And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
And it came to pass, after three days, that he called together those who were the chief of the Jews; and, when they came together, he began to say unto them - I, brethren, though I had done nothing against the people, or the customs of our fathers, as a prisoner, out of Jerusalem, was delivered into the hands of the Romans;
And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
And, having arranged with him a day, there came unto him, to the lodging, a larger number; unto whom he proceeded to expound, bearing full witness as to the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses, and from the prophets, - from morning till evening.
And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
Concerning his Son, - who came to be of the seed of David, according to flesh,
Came this blessedness then upon the circumcised or upon the uncircumcised? We say verily how that faith was reckoned to Abraham, for righteousness.
For not by the law [came] the promise to Abraham and his seed, that he should be heir of the world, but by the righteousness of faith.
Who was put to death for our evil-doing, and came to life again so that we might have righteousness.
So here is the comparison: As through one man sin came into the world, and death as the consequence of sin, and death spread to all men; because all men sinned.
Because, till the law came, sin was in existence, but sin is not put to the account of anyone when there is no law to be broken.
But the free giving of God is not like the wrongdoing of man. For if, by the wrongdoing of one man death came to numbers of men, much more did the grace of God, and the free giving by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, come to men.
And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment,
for if by one fall death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of the grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ;??18 therefore, as through the fall of one [judgment came] on all men to condemnation, so also through the righteous ordinance of one [the gift comes] on all men to justification of life;
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
And law came in, that the offence might abound, and where the sin did abound, the grace did overabound,
We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.
In the same way, my brothers, you were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, even to him who came again from the dead, so that we might give fruit to God.
For when we were in the flesh, the evil passions which came into being through the law were working in our bodies to give the fruit of death.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
and I died [i.e., came under its power]. And [so] the commandment, which was [intended] to bring [spiritual] life, actually brought [spiritual] death.
Because those of whom he had knowledge before they came into existence, were marked out by him to be made like his Son, so that he might be the first among a band of brothers:
Who will give a decision against us? It is Christ Jesus who not only was put to death, but came again from the dead, who is now at the right hand of God, taking our part.
Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
I speak not these things as though the words of God had taken none effect. For they are not all Israelites which came of Israel;

Then what is Apollos? Or what is Paul? Mere servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord gave each of us his task.
Only, everyone must continue in the station which the Lord has appointed for him, and in which he was when God's call came to him. This is the rule I make in all the churches.
Let every one remain in that condition of life in which he was when the Call came to him.
