As there gathered together an innumerable multitude of people - insomuch that they trod one another - he began to say unto his disciples, "First of all, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

When Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, "Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. Of hope, and of resurrection from death I am judged."

When the Pharisees saw that, they said unto him, "Behold: thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the Sabbath day." He said unto them, "Have ye not read what David did, when he was a hungered, and they also which were with him? How he entered into the house of God, and ate the hallowed loaves, which were not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests. read more.


When he saw many of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, "O generation of vipers, who hath taught you to flee from the vengeance to come? And this is the record of John: When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, "What art thou?"

And they which were sent, were of the Pharisees.

Woe be to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye which tithe mint, anise, and cumin, and leave the weightier matters of the law undone: judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to have left the other undone.
