Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

These [are] their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, Abdeel, Mibsam,

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedmah. These [are] the sons of Ishmael.

And the sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Enoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these [were] the sons of Keturah.

These [are] the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the {Israelites}: Bela son of Beor, and the name of his city [was] Dinhabah.

Magdiel, and Iram. These [are] the chiefs of Edom.

These [are] the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan and Shelah; [these] three were born to him from Bathshua the Canaanite. Now Er, Judah's firstborn, [was] evil in the sight of Yahweh, and he put him to death.

And Caleb the son of Hezron fathered children by Azubah his wife and by Jerioth. And these [were] her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

And Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-Jair from them, Kenath and its villages, sixty cities. All these [were] the {descendants} of Makir, the father of Gilead.

And the sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the children of Jerahmeel.

And Shaaph, the father of Madmannah, Sheva, the father of Machbena and the father of Gibea; and Caleb's daughter was Achsah. These were the sons of Caleb.

These were the {descendants} of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-Jearim,

These were the descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites,

And the families of Kiriath-Jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.

And the families of the scribes who lived [at] Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These [were] the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Recab.

These were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn, Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelite; the second, Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelite;

These six were born to him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.

And these were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, four by Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel;

All these [were] the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

And Reaiah the son of Shobal fathered Jahath, and Jahath fathered Ahumai and Lahad. These [were] the clans of the Zorathites.

And these [were] the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister [was] Hazzelelponi,

and Penuel [was] the father of Gedor, and Ezer [was] the father of Hushah. These [were] the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

These were the descendants of Hur, Ephrathah's firstborn, who fathered Bethlehem: Tekoa's father Ashhur had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

And Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These [were] the sons of Naarah.

And Eshton begot Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the city of Nahash: these were the men of Rechah.

And, the sons of Ezrah, Jether and Mered, and Epher and Jalon. And, these, are the sons of Bithia, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took, - and she conceived and bare Miriam and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.

And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh whom Mered took.

and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things.

These were the potters, and those that abode among plantations and enclosures: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These were their habitations and their genealogical register.

these mentioned by name were princes in their families; and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; for there was pasture there for their flocks.

Now 500 men from these sons of Simeon went with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their leaders to Mount Seir.

These were the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. He was the firstborn, but his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, because Reuben defiled his father’s bed. He is not listed in the genealogy according to birthright.

These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

All these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

And these Israelites, [on the east side of the Jordan River] made war with the Hagrites [a tribe of northern Arabia], Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.

They received help against these enemies because they cried out to God in battle, and the Hagrites and all their allies were handed over to them. He granted their request because they trusted in Him.

These Israelites took away their livestock: their 50,000 camels, and 250,000 sheep, and 2,000 donkeys; and 100,000 people.

For a great number fell mortally wounded, because the battle was of God. And these Israelites settled in their territory until the exile [by Assyria more than five centuries later].

And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

The sons of Levi now are these: Gershom, Kohath and Merari.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of Levi according to their fathers.

These are the clans of the descendants of Levi according to their ancestry: Gershom's clan included his son Libni, his son Jahath, his son Zimmah,

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah after that the ark was in rest.

And these are they that attended, and their sons: Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

Now these [are] the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

And these [are] their dwellings according to their settlements within their borders: to the sons of Aaron of the clans of Kohathites, for the [first] lot [was] theirs,

They allotted these cities of refuge to the descendants of Aaron: Hebron, Libnah with its surrounding suburbs, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its surrounding suburbs,

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.

And they gave by lot out of the tribe of Judah, out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin these cities that are mentioned by name.

They were given these cities of refuge: Shechem with its surrounding suburbs in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer with its surrounding suburbs,

and from the half-tribe of Manasseh [these cities], with their pasture lands: Aner and Bileam, for the rest of the families of the sons of Kohath.

and on the other side of the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan the Levites were given, from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and Jahzah with their pasture lands,

from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and Mahanaim with their pasture lands,

And the sons of Tola: Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their fathers house, these to Tola, great men of might in their generations. Their number in the days of David was twenty-two thousand and six hundred.

The sons of Beker: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these [were] the sons of Beker.

All these are the children of Becher, and were reckoned in their kindreds with the heads of the ancient households of them that were men of power, twenty thousand and two hundred.

All these [were] the sons of Jediael according to the heads of the {families}, mighty warriors, seventeen thousand two hundred, {able to go to war}.

The sons of Ulam: Bedan. These [were] the sons of Gilead the son of Makir, son of Manasseh.

And along the borders of the sons of Manasseh: Beth-Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, Megiddo and its towns, and Dor and its towns. In these lived the sons of Joseph the son of Israel.

The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These [were] the sons of Japhlet.

All of these [were] the sons of Asher, heads of the house of the fathers, chosen mighty warriors, heads of the princes. And their number enrolled by genealogy, in the army for the war, [was] twenty-six thousand men.

And these [are] the sons of Ehud (these were heads of the {families} for the inhabitants of Geba, and they took them away to Manahath):

Jeuz, Sakia, and Mirmah. These [were] his sons, heads of the {families}.

These [were] the heads of the {families} according to their generations, chiefs. These lived in Jerusalem.

and Mikloth (he fathered Shimeah). Now these also lived nearby their brothers in Jerusalem with their kinsmen.

And Azel had six sons, and these [are] their names: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. All these [were] the sons of Azel.

And the sons of Ulam were men [who were] mighty warriors, bowmen, and [they had] many sons and grandsons, one hundred and fifty. All these were Benjaminites.

These people from the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh settled in Jerusalem:

and their brethren according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six. All these men [were] the heads of the {families} in the house of their fathers.

he serves to this day at the King's Gate on the east. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the descendants of Levi.

All these chosen to be doorkeepers at the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were registered by genealogy according to their villages: David and Samuel the seer had instituted them in their trust.

And their brethren in their villages [were] to come [every] seven days {by turn} [to be] with these.

For in their trust these four were the chief doorkeepers: they were Levites; and they were over the chambers and over the treasuries of the house of God;

Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out.

Now these [were] the singers; the heads of the {families} of the Levites [were] in the chambers free from other service, for day and night [they were] over them on the service.

These [were] the heads of the {families} of the Levites according to their genealogies, leaders. These lived in Jerusalem.

And [these] lived in Gibeon: Jeiel the father of Gibeon. And the name of his wife [was] Maacah.

Mikloth fathered Shimeam. These also lived opposite their relatives in Jerusalem with their other relatives.

And Azel had six sons, and these [are] their names: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These [were] the sons of Azel.

And Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and deal harshly with me." But he was very afraid. Then Saul took the sword and fell upon it.

Now these [are] the chiefs of the mighty men who [were] for David, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel to make him king according to the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.

And these the number of strong ones which were to David; Jashobeam, son of Hachmoni, head of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred wounding at one time.

And he said, "Far be it from me [that] I would do this before my God. Shall I drink the lifeblood of these men? For {at the risk of their lives} they brought it." And he was not willing to drink it. These things the three mighty men did.

These things Benaiah son of Jehoiada did and had a name among the three mighty warriors.

And these were the best men of war of the Host: Asahel the brother of Joab and Elhanan the son of Dodo out of Bethlehem.

Now these are the ones who came to David at Ziklag while he was still shut up because {of Saul}, the son of Kish. And they [were] the mighty warriors helping [with] the war.

They were armed with bows and could shoot arrows or sling stones right or left-handed. They were fellow tribesmen of Saul from Benjamin.) These were:

These [were] the sons of Gad, leaders of the army. The smallest one [was] as a hundred, and the greatest as a thousand.

These [were] they who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it was filled over its banks. And they put to flight all [who were in] the valley to the east and to the west.

As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him these from Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of the thousands who were from Manasseh.

And these are the numbers of the chiefs of those prepared for the army who came to David at Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul over to him according to the word of Yahweh.

All these [were] men of war arrayed in battle line {with a whole heart}. They came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel. Likewise, all the rest of Israel [had] one heart to make David king.

Now these [are] the names of the children who were [born] to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

Chenaniah, leader of the Levites, was in charge of the singing; he gave instruction in singing because he was skilled.

On that day, then, David gave these songs in chief, to give thanks unto Yahweh, - through Asaph, and his brethren: -
