With great power God grasps my clothing; he binds me like the collar of my tunic.

Casting me into mire, And I am become like dust and ashes.

Let my wife grind [meal, like a bond slave] for another [man],
And let others kneel down over her.

(for from my childhood he {grew up with} me like a father, and from my mother's womb I guided her),

if like Adam I have covered my transgressions, by hiding my iniquity in my heart,

I would {surely} carry it on my shoulder; I would bind it on me [like] a crown.

I would give him an account of my steps; I would approach him like a noble.

I will not put forward words like these, or make use of your sayings in answer to him.

"But insomuch as ye will not speak, standing still like dumb men, and making no answer:

Lo, my breast is as wine not opened, Like new bottles it is broken up.

Look, before God {I am like you}; I myself was also formed from clay.

then his flesh is restored like a youth's; he returns to the days of his youthful vigor.

"He'll sing to mankind with these words: "I've sinned. I have twisted what is right. Yet he has not repaid me like I deserve.

But if you have something to say, answer me;
speak, for I would like to justify you.

For like as the mouth tasteth the meats, so the ear proveth and discerneth the words.

Who is a man like Job? He drinketh scoffing like water,

They that were in the stead of Seers, dealt like ungodly men.

Would that Job were tested up to [the] end because [his] answers [are] like [those from] men of mischief,

For a man like thyself is thy wickedness, And for a son of man thy righteousness.

He withdraws not His eyes from the righteous, but they are like kings on the throne; yes, He causes them to sit forever, and they are very high.

They come to their end while they are still young, their life is short like that of those who are used for sex purposes in the worship of their gods.

Lo, God doth sit on high by His power, Who is like Him -- a teacher?

"Now I'll conclude with this: my heart is trembling violently; it feels like it's about to leap from my body!

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, firm, like a molten mirror?

{Prepare yourself for a difficult task like a man}, and I will question you, and you shall declare to me.

Or [who] shut up the sea with doors when it broke forth, [like] it had issued out of the womb,

It is changed like clay [under] a seal, and they appear like a garment.

Like stone [the] waters become hard, and [the] faces of the deep freeze.

when the dust hardens like cast metal
and the clods of dirt stick together?

The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully,
but are her feathers and plumage like the stork’s?

Do you make it leap like the locust? [The] majesty of its snorting [is] terrifying.

"{Prepare yourself for a difficult task like a man}, and I will question you, and you shall declare to me.

And an arm like God hast thou? And with a voice like Him dost thou thunder?

"Look, Behemoth, which I have made just as [I made] you; it eats grass like the ox.

It keeps its tail straight like a cedar; [the] sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

Its bones [are] tubes of copper, its limbs like rods of iron.

Can you play with him like a bird
or put him on a leash for your girls?

[His] strong scales are [his] pride, shut up together [like] a close seal.

By his sneezings a light flashes, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

Out of his nostrils, proceedeth smoke, like a blown pot and rushes;

His heart, is hardened like a stone, yea hardened, like the nether millstone;

He regards iron like straw, and hardened bronze like a dead tree.

The arrow can't make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him.

Clubs are like twigs; he laughs at the whoosh of the javelin.

His undersides are like sharp stones: he spreads sharp pointed marks upon the mire.

He makes the deep boil like a pot: he makes the sea like a pot of ointment.

The sea is luminescent behind him; his wake turns the sea white, like those with gray hair.

There is not on the earth his like, That is made without terror.

And it cometh to pass after Jehovah's speaking these words unto Job, that Jehovah saith unto Eliphaz the Temanite, 'Burned hath Mine anger against thee, and against thy two friends, because ye have not spoken concerning Me rightly, like My servant Job.

And now, take to you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go ye unto My servant Job, and ye have caused a burnt-offering to ascend for you; and Job My servant doth pray for you, for surely his face I accept, so as not to do with you folly, because ye have not spoken concerning Me rightly, like My servant Job.

And beautiful women were not found in all the land like Job's daughters, and their father gave to them an inheritance in the midst of their brothers.
