Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.

Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

And I gave them punishment frequently, in all the Synagogues, forcing them to say things against God; and burning with passion against them, I went after them even into far-away towns.

After that, King Agrippa, I did not fail to obey the heavenly vision;

Instead, I first told the people in Damascus and Jerusalem, then all the people in Judea and after that the gentiles to repent, turn to God, and perform deeds that are consistent with such repentance.

and after leaving the room, as they continued to talk the matter over together, they said, "This man has done nothing to deserve death or imprisonment."

After going on board an Adramyttian ship bound for the ports of Asia, we set sail. On board with us was Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica.

And on the day after, we came to Sidon; and Julius was kind to Paul, and let him go to see his friends and take a rest.

After setting sail from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the wind was against us,

and after sailing the whole length of the sea off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we reached Myra in Lycia.

After making our way along the coast [of Crete] with difficulty, we arrived at a place called Fair Harbors [i.e., the principal seaport of the island], which was near the town of Lasea.

After considerable time had gone by, and navigation had become dangerous, and the fast was now over, Paul began to warn them

saying, “Men, I sense [after careful thought and observation] that this voyage will certainly be a disaster and with great loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

And since the haven was inconvenient to winter in, the majority gave counsel to launch from there also, if somehow they might be able, after arriving at Phoenix, to winter in a haven of Crete, looking toward southwest and northwest

When a moderate southerly breeze sprang up, they thought they had secured their object, and after weighing anchor they sailed along the coast of Crete, close inshore.

But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

After running under the shelter of a little island called Cauda, we were barely able to get control of the skiff.

After hoisting it on board, they used ropes to brace the ship, and since they were afraid of being stranded on the Syrtis quicksands, they lowered the sail and let her drift.

And, still fighting the storm with all our strength, the day after they made a start at getting the goods out of the ship;

and the third day we lent our hands to send the tackling after.

But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

After taking soundings, they found the depth to be twenty fathoms. A little later, they took soundings again and found it was fifteen fathoms.

After saying this he took some bread and thanked God for it before them all; then he broke it in pieces and began to eat it.

After they had eaten all they wanted, they began to lighten the ship by dumping its cargo of wheat into the sea.

After casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time loosening the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and headed for the beach.

After we had been rescued, we learned that the island was called Malta.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Publius' father chanced to be sick in bed with fever and dysentery, and Paul went to see him and after praying laid his hands upon him and cured him.

After that had happened, the rest of the sick people on the island went to him and were healed.

And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

After we put in at Syracuse, we stayed there for three days.

And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

There we found some brothers and were invited to stay with them for seven days. After this, we arrived in Rome.

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

After examining me the Romans wanted to set me free, because I was innocent of any crime that deserved the death penalty.

After arranging a day with him, many came to him at his lodging. From dawn to dusk he expounded and witnessed about the kingdom of God. He tried to persuade them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

After this Paul lived for two whole years in his own rented house, and used to receive all who came to see him.
