When he reached the opposite side, the country of the Gadarenes, he was met by two demoniacs who ran out of the tombs; they were so violent that nobody could pass along the road there.

There he could not do many miracles owing to their lack of faith.

I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him."

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"

He said to them, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you truly, if you had faith the size of a grain of mustard-seed, you could say to this hill, 'Move from here to there,' and remove it would; nothing would be impossible for you."

No one could make any answer to him, and from that day no one ventured to put another question to him.

Then he went to the disciples and found them asleep; and he said to Peter, "So the three of you could not watch with me for a single hour?
