Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.

Let all those who take pleasure in my troubles be shamed and come to nothing: let those who are lifted up against me be covered with shame and have no honour.

Let those who want my vindication
shout for joy and be glad;
let them continually say,
“The Lord be exalted.
He takes pleasure in His servant’s well-being.”

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.

The words of his mouth, are iniquity and deceit, he hath left off to show discretion by doing well:

He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.

There the workers of evil have come down: they have been made low, and will not be lifted up.

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

Their sword will enter into their [own] heart, and their bows shall be broken.

For the arms of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord supports the righteous.


The Lord knows the days of the blameless,
And their inheritance will continue forever.

But [the] wicked will perish, and the enemies of Yahweh [will be] like [the] splendor of [the] pastures. They vanish; in smoke they vanish.

Those who are blessed by Him will inherit the land,
but those cursed by Him will be destroyed.

[The] righteous will possess [the] land and abide in it forever.

I have seen a wicked, violent man
well-rooted like a flourishing native tree.

And Jehovah will help them and deliver them: he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them; for they trust in him.

My whole body is sick because of your judgment; I am deprived of health because of my sin.

For mine iniquities passed over my head: as a heavy lifting up they will be loaded above me.

And I, as deaf, shall not hear; and as dumb, he will not open his mouth.

I have prayed for deliverance, because otherwise they will gloat over me; when my foot slips they will arrogantly taunt me.

But my enemies are alive and well; those who hate me for no reason are numerous.

And they requiting evil for good will be mine adversaries, for my pursuing Thou Thou wilt not forsake me, O Jehovah: my God, thou wilt not remove far off from me.


I was mute and silent [before my enemies],
I refrained even from good,
And my distress grew worse.

My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

"LORD, let me know how my life ends, and the standard by which you will measure my days, whatever it is! Then I will know how transient my life is.

Lo, handbreadths Thou hast made my days, And mine age is as nothing before Thee, Only, all vanity is every man set up. Selah.


“Surely every man walks around like a shadow [in a charade];
Surely they make an uproar for nothing;
Each one builds up riches, not knowing who will receive them.

When, by rebukes for iniquity, thou hast corrected a man, Then hast thou consumed, as a moth, all that was delightful within him, Surely, a breath, are all men. Selah.
