Nay but, O man, who art thou, that disputest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, out of the same mass to make one vessel to honor and another to dishonor? And in the place where it was said to them, Ye are not my people, there shall they be called the children of the living God.

for as I was passing along, and looking at what ye worshipped, I found an altar on which there was inscribed, "To the unknown God." Whom therefore ye worship unknown, Him do I declare unto you. The God that made the world and all things therein, being lord of heaven and earth dwelleth not in temples made with hands: nor is He served by the hands of men, as needing any thing: for He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; read more.

For in Him we live and move, and exist; as some also of your own poets have said, "For we his offspring are." Now as He was yet discoursing to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, and desired to speak to Him: and somebody said to Him, "Here are thy mother and thy brethren standing without, desiring to speak to thee." But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, in order to suffer death, that by the grace of God He might taste death for every man, crowned with glory and honor. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember what I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours. But all these things will they do unto you, on my account, because they know not Him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them such works as no other ever did, they had not comparatively had sin: but now they have both seen, and hated, both me and my Father. But thus it is that the word might be fulfilled, which is written in their law, they hated me without a cause. There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath set me free from the law of sin and death. For that which was impossible for the law to do, and in which it was weak through the corruption of the flesh, God by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sacrifice for sin, hath done; that is, hath condemned sin in the flesh: read more.
that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. For they who are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they who are led by the Spirit, do mind spiritual things. Now to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace: because the carnal mind is an enemy to God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be: and they who are carnal, cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if the Spirit of God dwelleth in you: but if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwelleth in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, will also restore your mortal bodies to life, by his Spirit that now dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness which is of God. read more.
For Christ is the end of the law, for righteousness to every believer. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, "That the man who doth those things shall live by them." But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh thus, "Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven, (that is, to bring Christ down) or, who shall descend into the deep, (that is, to bring up Christ from the dead)" but what saith it? "The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart." This is the word of faith which we preach: that if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart, that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him, shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference of Jew and Greek: for He being Lord of all is bountiful to all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law. And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires. read more.

If ye fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, which saith, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. But if ye partially respect persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. for He that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou do not commit adultery, but committest murder, thou art a transgressor of the law. So speak, and so act, as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgement without mercy, that hath not shewn mercy: but mercy triumpheth over judgement. What is the advantage, my brethren, if any one say that he has faith, and he hath not works, can faith alone save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food; and one of you say to them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and be ye filled: but ye give them not the necessaries of life, what profit is it to them? so faith, if it have not works, being alone, is dead. But one may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith by thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble. But desirest thou to know, O vain man, that faith without works, is dead? consider, Was not our father Abraham justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? Thou seest that faith co-operated with his works, and that by his works his faith was perfected. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God. Ye see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. And in like manner also was not the harlot Rahab justified by works, when she entertained the spies, and let them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
