The kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who made a marriage for his son.

But I say to you that whoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who is put away commits adultery.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

And to the married I command (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from her husband. But if she is indeed separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to leave his wife.

For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife.

Therefore what God has joined together, let not man put apart.

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and households well.

Whoever finds a wife finds good and gets favor from Jehovah.

Take wives and father sons and daughters. And take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters, that you may be multiplied there and not become few.

Therefore I want the younger ones to marry, bear children, guide the house, giving no occasion to the adversary because of reproach.

When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any duty. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it,

Likewise, husbands, live together according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel, the female, as truly being co-heirs together of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them.

Now concerning what you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. But, because of the fornications, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband. Let the husband give to the wife proper kindness, and likewise the wife also to the husband.

Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the Word, they may also be won without the Word by the conduct of the wives, having witnessed your chaste behavior in the fear of God. Of whom let not be the adorning of garments, or outward braiding of hair and wearing of gold, or of putting on clothing, read more.

Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband lives, but if her husband sleeps in death, she is at liberty to be remarried to whom she will, only in the Lord.

And if a man lures a virgin who is not promised, and lies with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

But I speak this according to permission, not according to commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself am. But each has his proper gift from God, one according to this manner and another according to that. Or are you ignorant, brothers; for I speak to those who know the Law; that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the married woman was bound by law to the living husband.
