I called to the Lord in my distress,
and I cried to my God for help.
From His temple He heard my voice,
and my cry to Him reached His ears.

When He heard their cry,
He took note of their distress,

For you people will live on Zion in Jerusalem and will never cry again. He will show favor to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He will answer you. The Lord will give you meager bread and water during oppression, but your Teacher will not hide Himself any longer. Your eyes will see your Teacher,

At that time, when you call, the Lord will answer;
when you cry out, He will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you get rid of the yoke among you,
the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,

“Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be renewed.
If you banish injustice from your tent

You will pray to Him, and He will hear you,
and you will fulfill your vows.

while I was praying, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the first vision, came to me in my extreme weariness, about the time of the evening offering.

Even before they call, I will answer;
while they are still speaking, I will hear.

“Don’t be afraid, Daniel,” he said to me, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your prayers were heard. I have come because of your prayers.

His prayer and how God granted his request, and all his sin and unfaithfulness and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and carved images before he humbled himself, they are written in the Records of Hozai.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests;

They called to Yahweh and He answered them.

I called to the Lord in distress;
the Lord answered me
and put me in a spacious place.

On the day I called, You answered me;
You increased strength within me.

"Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am about to bring on them disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not hear them. Then the cities of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods they have been burning incense to, but they certainly will not save them in their time of disaster. "As for you, do not pray for these people. Do not raise up a cry or a prayer on their behalf, for I will not be listening when they call out to Me at the time of their disaster.

And He said to me, "Do you see [this], son of man? You will see even greater abominations than these." So the Lord does not accept them.
Now He will remember their guilt
and punish their sins.

If they fast, I will not hear their cry of despair. If they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. Rather, I will finish them off by sword, famine, and plague.”

for bloodshed remembers them;
He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—

Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.

So we prayed to our God and stationed a guard because of them day and night.

When our enemies heard that we knew their scheme and that God had frustrated it, every one of us returned to his own work on the wall.

I will offer You a sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of Yahweh.

I will give thanks to You

So give Your servant an obedient heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will restore him to health; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

The Pharisee took his stand and was praying like this: 'God, I thank You that I'm not like other people -greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.'

For your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers, with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies,
and your tongues mutter injustice.

When you lift up your hands in prayer,
I will refuse to look at you;
even if you offer countless prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are covered with blood.

Call on Me in a day of trouble;
I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

When he calls out to Me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent request of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He listens to him.

I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit. You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief.

At the beginning of your petitions an answer went out, and I have come to give it, for you are treasured [by God]. So consider the message and understand the vision:

“Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” Samuel asked Saul.

And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that Your slaves may speak Your message with complete boldness, while You stretch out Your hand for healing, signs, and wonders to be performed through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus." It will be a sign and witness to the Lord of Hosts in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, He will send them a savior and leader, and he will rescue them.

The Lord is near all who call out to Him,
all who call out to Him with integrity.

The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
I, Yahweh, will answer them;

He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him;

There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil men. Indeed, God does not listen to empty [cries], and the Almighty does not take note of it-

For you people will live on Zion in Jerusalem and will never cry again. He will show favor to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He will answer you.

Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

and can receive whatever we ask from Him because we keep His commands and do what is pleasing in His sight.

If I had been aware of malice in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.

You hate good and love evil. You tear off the skin of people and [strip] their flesh from their bones. You eat the flesh of my people after you strip their skin from them and break their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a caldron." Then they will cry out to the Lord, but He will not answer them. He will hide His face from them at that time because of the crimes they have committed.

But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

May God be praised!
He has not turned away my prayer
or turned His faithful love from me.

I love the Lord because He has heard
my appeal for mercy.

And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.

I will call out to Him as long as I live.
