Thus did the sons of Israel. According to all that LORD commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set forward, everyone by their families, according to their fathers' houses.

And the sons of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp. As LORD spoke to Moses, so did the sons of Israel.

Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against LORD in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of LORD.
