For as we undergo more of the pain which Christ underwent, so through Christ does our comfort become greater.

For it is our desire that you may not be without knowledge of our trouble which came on us in Asia, that the weight of it was very great, more than our power, so that it seemed that we had no hope even of life:

For my boast is what my conscience tells me, that my relations to the world and still more to you have been marked by pure motives and godly sincerity, not by worldly shrewdness but by the favor of God.

For what I am writing you is nothing more than what you can read and understand, and I hope that you will understand it perfectly, just as some of you have come to understand me partially;

And in this confidence was I minded the other time to have come unto you, that ye might have had yet one pleasure more,

I call God for a record unto my soul, that for to favor you withal, I came not any more unto Corinth.

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

sufficient to such a one is this punishment, that is by the more part,

So that on the contrary ye should rather show kindness, and console, lest perhaps such be swallowed down with more abundant sadness.

Do you say that this is self-recommendation once more? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you or from you?

If, however, the administration of death, written with letters and engraved on stones, began in glory, so that the children of Israel could not gaze steadily on the face of Moses, because of the glory of his face?? glory even then fading??8 how much more shall the ministry of the Spirit abide in glory?

why shall not the ministration of the spirit be much more glorious?

For if the ministering of condemnation be glorious: much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

Then if that which is destroyed was glorious, much more shall that which remaineth be glorious.

As all of us reflect the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, we are becoming more like him with ever-increasing glory by the Lord's Spirit.

For it is all for your benefit, in order that as God's favor reaches greater and greater numbers, it may result in more and more thanksgiving in praise of God.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Yes, we who are in this tent certainly do sigh under our burdens, for we do not wish to lay aside that with which we are now clothed, but to put on more, so that our mortality may be absorbed in Life.

and for all he died, that those living, no more to themselves may live, but to him who died for them, and was raised again.

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh. Insomuch that though we have known Christ after the flesh, now henceforth know we him so no more.

And not with his coming only: but also with the consolation wherewith he was comforted of you. For he told us your desire, your mourning, your fervent mind to me ward: So that I now rejoice the more.

And indeed though I wrote unto you, I did it not [merely] for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause who had suffered the injury, but that our diligent attention for you might be more abundantly manifested to you in the presence of God.

Therefore we are comforted, because ye are comforted: yea and exceedingly the more joyed we, for the joy that Titus had: because his spirit was refreshed of you all.

And now is his inward affection more abundant toward you, when he remembereth the obedience of every one of you: how with fear and trembling ye received him.

that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty, hath more abounded to the riches of their liberality.

For I give them witness, that as they were able, and even more than they were able, they gave from the impulse of their hearts,

They did far more than I hoped, for first in obedience to God's will, they gave themselves to the Lord, and to me.

Indeed, the more your faith, speech, knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for us increase, the more we want you to be rich in this work of kindness.

For you are recognizing [more clearly] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor], that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed).

And in this I give my opinion: for it is to your profit, who were the first to make a start a year before, not only to do this, but to make clear that your minds were more than ready to do it.

But so that things may be equal; that from those things of which you have more than enough at the present time their need may be helped, and that if you are in any need they may be a help to you in the same way, making things equal.

agreeing to that which is written, "He that gathered much had never the more abundance, and he that gathered little, had nevertheless."

For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

What is more, he has been appointed by the churches to travel with me in the interests of this generous undertaking, which I am superintending to honor the Lord and to show our readiness to help.

We have sent with them a brother of ours, whom we have oft times proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent. The great confidence which I have in you

for I have known your readiness of mind, which in your behalf I boast of to Macedonians, that Achaia hath been prepared a year ago, and the zeal of you did stir up the more part,

In every way you will grow richer and become even more generous, and this will cause others to give thanks to God because of us,

For the rendering of this service does more than supply the wants of God's people; it results in a wealth of thanksgiving to God.

And though I should boast myself somewhat more of our authority which the Lord hath given us to edify and not to destroy you, it should not be to my shame.

For we have no need to make ourselves seem more than we are, as if our authority did not come as far as to you: for we came even as far as you with the good news of Christ:

and we boast not ourselves out of measure in other men's labors. Yea, and we hope, when your faith is increased among you, to be magnified according to our measure more largely;

I robbed other churches by accepting [more than their share of] financial support for my ministry to you.

And being present with you, and having wanted, I acted not with negligence to any: (for the brethren having come from Macedonia filled up still more my want:) and I kept myself in every thing not burdensome to you, and I will keep.

They are the ministers of Christ - I speak as a fool - I am more: In labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prison more plenteously,

Though if I do choose to boast, I will not be such a fool, for I will only be telling the truth. But I will refrain from it, for I do not want anyone to be influenced by the wonderful character of these revelations to think more of me than is justified by my words or conduct.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

{For in what respect are you made worse off} more than the rest of the churches, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!

I will very gladly bestow, and will be bestowed for your souls: though the more I love you, the less I am loved again.
