and to make plain [to everyone] the plan of the mystery [regarding the uniting of believing Jews and Gentiles into one body] which [until now] was kept hidden through the ages in [the mind of] God who created all things.
To get to know, also, the knowledge-surpassing, love of the Christ, - in order that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God:
One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,
Now this, He ascended; what is it, - save - that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?
He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;
This I say therefore, and solemnly declare in Lord, for you to walk no longer as also the other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Let all bitterness and all passionate feeling, all anger and loud insulting language, be unknown among you--and also every kind of malice.
And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another - even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
And walk in love - even as, the Christ also, loved you, and delivered himself up in your behalf, an offering and sacrifice unto God, for a fragrance of sweet smell.

Because, a husband, is the head of his wife, as, the Christ also, is the head of the assembly, he, being the saviour of the body, -
But as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives should be subject to their husbands in everything [respecting both their position as protector and their responsibility to God as head of the house].
Ye husbands, be loving your wives, even as, the Christ also, loved the assembly, and delivered, himself, up in her behalf,
So, ought the husbands also to be loving their own wives, as their own bodies, - he that loveth his own wife, loveth himself,
For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as also Christ the church,
Nevertheless, ye also, do ye, individually, each man be so loving, his own wife, as himself, and, the wife, see that she reverence her husband.
And ye masters, do the same things to them, easing up the threats, knowing also that the master of you yourselves is in the heavens, and there is no partiality from him.
Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word;
And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news [of salvation],

I also pray for this, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all understanding,
Because of my chains [seeing that I am doing well and that God is accomplishing great things], most of the

What then [does it matter]? So long as in every way, whether in pretense [for self-promotion] or in all honesty [to spread the truth], Christ is being preached; and in this I rejoice.
Yes, and I will rejoice [later as well],
According to my eager outlook and hope, that, in nothing, shall I be put to shame, but, with all freedom of speech, as always, now also, shall Christ be magnified in my body, whether through means of life, or of death.
[I also want to hear] that you are not being frightened by those who oppose you, which [opposition] is proof that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved, and this will [all] be done by God.
Because, unto you, hath it been given as a favour, in behalf of Christ, not only, on him, to believe, but also, in his behalf, to suffer: -
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Wherefore also, God, uplifted him far on high, and favoured him with the name which is above every name, -

He certainly was sick and close to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.
I have sent him therefore the more willingly, that ye seeing him again may rejoice, and that I also may be the less sorrowful.
