and he said unto them, 'With desire I did desire to eat this passover with you before my suffering,
for I tell you, I shall not after today drink the product of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
He did the same with the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant sealed by my blood, which is being poured out for you.
and I appoint to you, as my Father did appoint to me, a kingdom,
And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,
And he said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times [that you] know me!"
And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.
Then Jesus went out and made his way, as he customarily did, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.
And one of them did strike the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
And Jesus said to the high priests and captains of the temple and elders, who came up against Him, "Did ye come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
When I was day by day with you in the temple ye did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.
And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him -- 'Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;'
And many other things did they scoffingly say against him.
"Tell us if you are the Christ [i.e., God's specially chosen one]." But He replied, "You would not believe me if I [did] tell you [who I am].
But from today the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."
and they said, 'What need yet have we of testimony? for we ourselves did hear it from his mouth.'
And having risen, the whole multitude of them did lead him to Pilate,
And Herod having seen Jesus did rejoice exceedingly, for he was wishing for a long time to see him, because of hearing many things about him, and he was hoping some sign to see done by him,
So he kept asking Him questions, but Jesus did not answer him.
and Herod with his soldiers having set him at nought, and having mocked, having put around him gorgeous apparel, did send him back to Pilate,
and said to them, "You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people. When I examined him before you, I did not find this man guilty of anything you accused him of doing.
No, nor has Herod, for he sent Him back to us; and indeed, He has done nothing to deserve death.
And he a third time said unto them, 'Why, what evil did he? no cause of death did I find in him; having chastised him, then, I will release him.'
for, lo, days do come, in which they shall say, Happy the barren, and wombs that did not bare, and paps that did not give suck;
And saying as they did so: "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself."
and we indeed righteously, for things worthy of what we did we receive back, but this one did nothing out of place;'
And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Jesus said to him,
and the sun was darkened. And the veil of the temple did rent even through the midst.
Now the centurion, seeing what took place, glorified God, saying, In very deed this man was just.
and all the multitudes who were come together to this sight, beholding the things that came to pass, smiting their breasts did turn back;
and all his acquaintances stood afar off, and women who did follow him from Galilee, beholding these things.
who had not consented to their decision and deed. He came from of Arimathea, a city of the Jews, and he was waiting for the kingdom of God.
(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
And [after receiving permission] he took it down and wrapped it in a linen [burial] cloth and laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
but when they went inside, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here; for He has risen [from the dead]. [Do you not] remember what He told you when He was still in Galilee, saying,
The Son of man must be turned over into the hands of sinful men to be crucified, but the third day [He will] rise again [from the dead]?'"
But their report seemed to them like idle talk and nonsense, and they would not believe them.
And Peter having risen, did run to the tomb, and having stooped down he seeth the linen clothes lying alone, and he went away to his own home, wondering at that which was come to pass.
But their eyes were [miraculously] prevented from recognizing Him.
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
how also the chief priests and our rulers did deliver him up to a judgment of death, and crucified him;
But we hoped that it was he who should have redeemed Israel: and besides all this, today is the third day since these things were done.
and they did not find His body. Then they came back, saying that they had even seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive!
Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women had said, but they did not see Him.”
Did it not behoove Christ to suffer, and to enter into His glory?
and they constrained him, saying, 'Remain with us, for it is toward evening,' and the day did decline, and he went in to remain with them.
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
which said, "The Lord is risen in deed, and hath appeared to Simon."
But while they yet did not believe for joy, and were wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything here to eat?
And he took it, and did eat before them.
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And he led them forth without -- unto Bethany, and having lifted up his hands he did bless them,
and they, having bowed before him, did turn back to Jerusalem with great joy,
all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.
and the light in the darkness did shine, and the darkness did not perceive it.
in the world he was, and the world through him was made, and the world did not know him:
to his own things he came, and his own people did not receive him;
but as many as did receive him to them he gave authority to become sons of God -- to those believing in his name,
For not to natural conception, nor to human instincts, nor to will of man did they owe the new Life, but to God.

And his disciples remembered that it is written, 'The zeal of Thy house did eat me up;'
But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this;

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being].
'And as Moses did lift up the serpent in the wilderness, so it behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up,
for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.
For God did not send His Son to the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him;
The person who believes in Him will not be condemned, but the one who does not believe in Him has already been condemned, because he did not believe in the name of God's one and only Son.
