Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, [for as many] years [as] we have seen calamity.

For you, O Yahweh, [are] my refuge. You have made the Most High your dwelling place.

For you, O Yahweh, have made me glad by your work; by the deeds of your hands I sing for joy.

[The] rivers have lifted up, O Yahweh; [the] rivers have lifted up their {rumbling}; [the] rivers have lifted up their pounding.

If Yahweh had not been my help, my soul would soon have dwelt in silence.

Sing to Yahweh a new song, for he has done wonders. His right hand and his holy arm have secured his victory.

He has remembered his loyal love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel. All [the] ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

And [the] strength of [the] king loves justice. You have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

because of your indignation and anger, for you have picked me up and thrown me away.

We have sinned [along] with our ancestors. We have committed iniquity; we have incurred guilt.

Have you not rejected us, O God, and not gone out with our armies, O God?

for {wicked and deceitful mouths} have opened against me. They speak to me with a lying tongue.

that they may know that this [is] your hand, [that] you, O Yahweh, you have done it.

Your people {will volunteer} in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from [the] womb of [the] dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.

they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;

[they have] their hands, but they cannot feel, their feet, but they cannot walk; they cannot utter a sound in their throats.

Ah, Yahweh, I [am] indeed your servant; I am your servant, the child of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds.

You have commanded your precepts, that [we] should keep [them] diligently.

With my lips I have told [of] all the ordinances of your mouth.

In the way of your testimonies I have rejoiced as [I would] over all riches.

{Remove from} me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies.

I have chosen [the] faithful way; I have set your ordinances [before me].

Look, I have longed for your precepts; revive me in your righteousness.

Remember [your] word to your servant, upon which you have caused me to hope.

[The] arrogant utterly deride me; I have not turned aside from your law.

Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning.

This has been mine, that I have kept your precepts.

You have dealt well with your servant, O Yahweh, according to your word.

Your hands have made me and established me; give me understanding that I may learn your commands.

Let the arrogant be put to shame, because they have wronged me [with] lies. As for me, I will meditate on your precepts.

For I have become like a wineskin in [the] smoke, [yet] I have not forgotten your statutes.

[The] arrogant have dug pits for me, which [is] not according to your law.

They have almost destroyed me on the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.

Your faithfulness [endures] {throughout all generations}. You have established [the] earth and it stands.

Unless your law [had been] my delight, then I would have perished in my misery.

I [am] yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts.

I have restrained my feet from every evil way, so that I may heed your word.

I have not turned aside from your ordinances, for you have taught me.

[The] wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I do not wander from your precepts.

Uphold me, that I may be delivered, and have regard for your statutes continually.

I have done justice and righteousness; do not leave me to my oppressors.

You have ordained your testimonies [in] righteousness, and [in] exceeding faithfulness.

My zeal consumes me, because my enemies have forgotten your words.

Concerning your testimonies, I knew long ago that you have established them forever.

Let your hand be my help, because I have chosen your precepts.

I have wandered like a lost sheep; seek your servant, because I do not forget your commands.

Be gracious to us, O Yahweh, be gracious to us, for long enough we have had our fill of contempt.

then they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger was kindled against us.

Then the waters would have flooded over us, [the] torrent would have passed over our soul.

Then over our soul would have passed the raging waters."

Our soul has escaped like a bird from [the] snare of fowlers. The snare [is] broken, and we have escaped.

"Too often they have attacked me from my youth." Let Israel say,

"Too often they have attacked me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me.

On my back plowmen have plowed. They have made their furrows long."

Rather I have soothed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother, like the weaned child [is] my soul with me.

"This [is] my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

for Yahweh will plead [the] cause [of] his people and will have compassion on his servants.

they have ears, but cannot hear; there is not even breath in their mouths.

I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name, because of your loyal love and faithfulness, for you have magnified your word according to all your name.

All [the] kings of [the] earth will praise you, O Yahweh, when they have heard the words of your mouth,

I hate them with a complete hatred; they have become my enemies.

[The] proud have hidden a trap for me, and cords. They have spread out a net along [the] {side} of [the] path. They have set snares for me. Selah

O Yahweh, my Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in [the] day of battle.

But my eyes [are] toward you, O Yahweh, my Lord; I have taken refuge in you. Do not lay bare my soul.

Protect me from [the] {grasp} of [the] trap they have laid for me, and [from the] snares of evildoers.

When my spirit faints within me, you know my way. On the path where I walk, they have hidden a trap for me;

Blessed [are] the people who have [it] thus. Blessed [are] the people whose God [is] Yahweh.

For I have given you good instruction; do not forsake my teaching.

For they will not sleep if they have not done wrong, and they are robbed of their sleep if they do not cause stumbling.

My child, if you have pledged to your neighbor, [if] you have bound {yourself} to the stranger,

do this, then, my child, and save yourself, for you have come into {the palm of your neighbor's hand}: Go, humble yourself, plead with your neighbor.

So I have come out to meet you, to seek your face, and I have found you.

[With] coverings I have adorned my couch, spreads of the linen of Egypt;

I have perfumed my bed [with] myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

"Come, eat with my bread; drink with the wine I have mixed.
