for which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed: for I know in whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that day.

Beloved, we are now the children of God, but it doth not yet appear what we shall be: we know however, that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

And we know that all things co-operate for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose;

If any one teach otherwise, and adhere not to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but is delirious about questions and strifes of words: from which cometh envy, contention, calumnies, wicked suspicions, perverse debates of men corrupted in mind, and void of truth, accounting gain to be godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

But this know, that in the last days there will be difficult times; for men will be selfish, covetous, arrogant, proud, blasphemers, undutiful to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without natural affection, perfidious, false accusers, intemperate, savage, enemies to the good, traitors, read more.
headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but strangers to the power of it: from such turn away. For if these be in you and abound, they will not suffer you to be idle, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he, that hath not these, is blind, or short-sighted, having forgot his baptismal purification from his former sins. Wherefore, my brethren, be the more diligent thus to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.
