Since then we have in Jesus, the Son of God, a great High Priest who has gone right up to heaven itself, let us continue to keep a firm hold on our profession of faith in Him.
And though by this time it would be right for you to be teachers, you still have need of someone to give you teaching about the first simple rules of God's revelation; you have become like babies who have need of milk, and not of solid food.
For everyone who lives on milk is still a baby and does not yet know the difference between right and wrong.
But 'solid food' is for Christians of mature faith--those whose faculties have been trained by practice to distinguish right from wrong.
'tis true they of the race of Levi, who assume the office of the priesthood, have a right by law to take tithes of the people, that is, of their brethren, though they all issued from Abraham:
And we may say that in Abraham, even Levi, who has a right to take the tenth part, gave it;

And this is still more abundantly clear when we read that it is as belonging to the order of Melchizedek that a priest of a different kind is to arise,
It was right for us to have such a high priest, one who is holy and without evil, doing no wrong, having no part with sinners, and made higher than the heavens:

I did write to you, fathers, because ye have known him who is from the beginning; I did write to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God in you doth remain, and ye have overcome the evil.
I did not write to you because ye have not known the truth, but because ye have known it, and because no lie is of the truth.
These things I did write to you concerning those leading you astray;
If you know that He is righteous, you know this as well: Everyone who does what is right
