in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,
Who keep men from being married and from taking food which God made to be taken with praise by those who have faith and true knowledge.
because every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,
These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,
But she being really a widow, and having been left alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
So lay down the following rules, to prevent any reproach being incurred.
Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, having been wife of one man,
must have a reputation for doing good deeds, as bringing up children, being hospitable to strangers, washing the feet of God's people, helping people in distress, or devoting herself to any sort of doing good.
as for young widows, don't admit them: for being impatient of religious restraint, they will be marry'd:

So we see that it was their unbelief that kept them from being admitted to it.

It penetrates [deep enough] even to divide [a person's] soul [from his] spirit, and his joints [from his] bone marrow [Note: This is figurative language describing the penetrating effect of God's word into a person's spiritual, inner being] and is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of a person's heart.
No being created can escape God's sight, but everything is bare and helpless before the eyes of him with whom we have to reckon.
For every high priest is appointed to officiate for men in religious matters, offering gifts and sacrifices for their sins: being chosen from among the people. that as he himself is surrounded with infirmities,

and of teaching about immersions [Note: The use of the plural word here suggests teaching on the distinctions between Jewish washings and John's and Christian immersion, whether in water or the Holy Spirit. See Acts 19:1-7], and about placing hands on people [Note: This act was practiced in the appointment of church leaders, in healing sick people and to impart supernatural gifts], and about people being raised from the dead and about never ending judgment.
But if it continues to yield thorns and thistles, it is considered worthless and in danger of being cursed, and its final fate is burning.
But, my dearly loved ones, even though we talk this way, we are persuaded that you will do better than that [i.e., you will not fall away from God], and will end up being saved.
Then, instead of being lazy, you will imitate those who are inheriting the promises through faith and patience.
And, thus, being patient, he attained unto the promise.
For men swear by a greater Being, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all controversy.
Wherein God, being, more abundantly disposed to shew forth unto the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his counsel, mediated, with an oath, -
