The LORD is longsuffering and of great mercy, letting go of iniquity and transgression and absolving, but by no means absolving the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons unto the third and fourth generations.

Can a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even though they may forget, I will not forget thee.

And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.

And she conceived again and bore a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will never again have mercy upon the house of Israel, but I will utterly forget them.

And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the heavens. And thou, Solomon, my son, know thou the God of thy father and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing soul, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. Take heed now, for the LORD has chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.

And David said to Solomon, his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it; fear not, nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not leave thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work of the service of the house of the LORD.

A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son is sadness unto his mother.

The wise son makes a glad father, but the foolish man despises his mother.

The foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her that bore him.

A foolish son is a pain unto his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.

And it shall come to pass, for having heard these rights and for having kept them by doing them that the LORD thy God shall keep the covenant with thee and the mercy which he swore unto thy fathers;

Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be male or female barren among you or among your beasts.

Thou shalt know that thy seed is great and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

When thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands; happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thy house; thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD.

Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children and peace upon Israel.

Now I say That the heir, as long as he is a child differs in nothing from a slave, though he be lord of all, but is under the hand of tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth and walk in the ways of thine heart and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

Woe to the sons that leave, saith the LORD, to make counsel, but not of me; to cover themselves with a covering, and not by my spirit, adding sin unto sin!

Let the deacons be the husbands of only one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family because he has no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father. And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
