and for many days he was seen by those, who had accompany'd him from Galilee to Jerusalem: and they are now his witnesses to the people.
to you therefore we declare, that the promise which God had made to the fathers, he has now perform'd to us, who are their children, by his having raised up Jesus again.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
by him, every one who believes, is purged from all that guilt, for which the law of Moses had made no such provision.
And when the Jews had gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
After the synagogue had been dismissed, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and persuading them to continue in the grace of God.
when the Jews saw such a crowd, they were fill'd with resentment, and oppos'd what Paul had advanc'd, even to blasphemy.
Then Paul and Barnabas courageously spoke out, "God's message had to be spoken to you Jews first, but since you continue to thrust it from you and since you show yourselves unworthy to receive eternal life, now and here we turn to the heathen.
When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the message of the Lord, and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.
Now in Iconium they went together to the Synagogue of the Jews and gave such teaching that a great number of Jews and Greeks had faith.
But those Jews who had not the faith, made the minds of the Gentiles bitter against the brothers.
In Lystra a man without strength in his feet, lame from birth,
and heard Paul speaking. After observing him closely and seeing that he had faith to be healed,
When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in the form of men!”
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and when they had won over the crowds and stoned Paul, they dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.
But after the disciples had surrounded him, he got up and went back into the city. On the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.
After they had evangelized that town and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch,

And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
From there they sailed back to Antioch where they had been entrusted to the grace of God for the work they had now completed.
After they arrived and gathered the church together, they reported everything God had done with them
But certain persons who had come down from Judaea tried to convince the brethren, saying, "Unless you are circumcised in accordance with the Mosaic custom, you cannot be saved."
But after Paul and Barnabas had engaged them in serious argument and debate, the church arranged for Paul and Barnabas and some others of them to go up to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem concerning this controversy.
When they had been sent on their way by the church,
When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church, the apostles, and the elders, and they reported all that God had done with them.
but some of the sect of the Pharisees who had embraced the faith, started up, pretending that the Gentiles ought to be circumcised, and observe the law of Moses.
The apostles and elders had a meeting to look into this matter.
After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them: “Brothers, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you,
And God who knows men's hearts testified for them by giving them the holy Spirit just as he had done to us,
Then the whole assembly fell silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul describing all the signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.
And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
'After these [things] I will return and build up again the tent of David that has fallen, and the [parts] of it that had been torn down I will build up again and will restore it,
For since ancient times, Moses has had those who proclaim him in every city, and every Sabbath day he is read aloud in the synagogues.”
Inasmuch as we had heard that, certain from among us, had troubled you with words, dismantling your souls, - unto whom we had given no instructions,
So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
After spending some time there, they were sent back in peace
After some time had passed, Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s go back and visit the brothers in every town

And Barnabas had a desire to take with them John, named Mark.
But Paul did not think it appropriate to take along this man who had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not gone on with them to the work.
They had a sharp disagreement, so that they parted company. Barnabas took along Mark and sailed away to Cyprus,
But Paul selected Silas and set out, after the brothers had committed him to the favor of the Lord.
Among other places Paul went to Derbe and Lystra. At the latter place they found a disciple, named Timothy, whose mother was a Jewess who had become a believer in Christ, while his father was a Greek,
as the brethren of Lystra and Iconium gave him a good character, Paul had a mind he should accompany him.
so he took him and had him circumcised, out of regard to the Jews of that country, who all knew his father was a Greek.
And as they went on their way through the cities, they delivered them the decrees to keep which had been ordained of the apostles and elders that were at Jerusalem.
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

her masters finding they had lost such a prospect of gain, seized upon Paul and Silas, and hawl'd them to the publick place before the magistrates.
and when they had brought them unto the magistrates, they said, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
The crowd also joined in the attack upon them, and the chiefs of the police court had them stripped and flogged.
After they had inflicted many blows on them, they threw them in jail, ordering the jailer to keep them securely guarded.
Which jailer, when he had received such commandment, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison open, he drew his sword and was going to kill himself, since he thought the prisoners had escaped.
And that same hour of the night, he took them, and when he had given attention to their wounds, he and all his family had baptism straight away.
He brought them into his house, set a meal before them, and rejoiced because he had believed God with his entire household.
so the jayler told Paul, the magistrates had order'd them to be discharg'd. depart then, said he, and go in peace.
But Paul said to them, "They had us beaten in public without giving us a trial, and put us in jail, although we are Roman citizens! And now are they going to dismiss us secretly? By no means! Have them come here themselves and take us out!"
So, the officers reported what Paul had said and the city officials became fearful when they learned that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens.
and they came and besought them; and when they had brought them out, they asked them to go away from the city.
