So those who were present began to ask Him, "Lord, is this the time when you are going to set up the kingdom again for Israel?"

At that time Peter got up among the brothers (there were about a hundred and twenty present) and said,

"So one of these men who have been associated with us all the time the Lord Jesus came and went among us,

from the time of His baptism by John down to the day when He was taken up from us, must be added to our number as a witness to His resurrection."

Yet heaven must retain Him till the time for the universal restoration of which God in the early ages spoke through the lips of His holy prophets.

After him, at the time of the enrollment for the Roman tax, Judas the Galilean appeared and influenced people to desert and follow him, but he too perished and all his followers were scattered.

Now just about that time a great commotion arose about The Way.

Then Paul took the men along with him and on the next day went into the temple with them, purified, and announced the time when the purification would be completed, when the sacrifice for each one of them could be offered.

After considerable time had gone by, and navigation had become dangerous, and the fast was now over, Paul began to warn them

After they had gone a long time without any food, then Paul got up among them and said: "Men, you ought to have listened to me and not to have sailed from Crete, and you would have escaped this disaster and loss.

So they cast off the anchors and left them in the sea; at the same time they undid the ropes of the rudders, and hoisting the foresail to the breeze they headed for the beach.

The natives kept on looking for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual take place on him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

So they set a day for him, and came in large numbers to see him at the place where he was lodging, and from morning till night he continued to explain to them the kingdom of God, at the same time giving them his own testimony and trying from the law of Moses and the prophets to convince them about Jesus.
