If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
but, if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with One another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
They are of the world; for this cause they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God.
Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him;
Behold what manner of love the Father hath given to us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.
My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And, if any one sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous.
And the Spirit is He Who beareth witness, because the Spirit is the Truth:
That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we gazed upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life
Beloved, now are we children of God, and never yet was it manifested what we shall be. We know that, if He shall be manifested, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.
He that loves not never knew God; because God is love.
And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
And this is the message which we have heard from Him, and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.
Every one who commits sin commits lawlessness also; and sin is lawlessness.
These things I wrote to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.
And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
And this is the confidence which we have toward Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us;
Little children, it is the last hour; and, as ye heard that Anti-Christ is coming, even now many anti-christs have arisen; whence we know that it is the last hour.
And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him.
He that commits sin is of the Devil; because the Devil sins from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he who fears is not made perfect in love.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He Who is in you, than he that is in the world.
And in this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments.
Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God; and every one who loves Him Who begat loves him also that has been begotten of Him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins.
We love, because He first loved us.
because there are Three Who bear witness; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the Three agree in one.
because all that has been begotten of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.
In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him.
that which we have seen and heard we declare to you also, that ye also may have fellow-ship with us; and our fellowship also is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
And now, little children, abide in Him; that, if He shall be manifested, we may have confidence, and not be put away from Him with shame at His coming.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome;
Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue, but in deed and in truth.
We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the evil one.
They went out from among us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that they might be made manifest, that they are not all of us.
And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us understanding, that we may know the True One: and we are in the True One??n His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God, and eternal life.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and are walking in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth;
He that has the Son has the life; he that has not the Son of God has not the life.
But whosoever possesses the goods of the world, and beholds his brother having need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
He who says that he is abiding in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked.
because all that is in the world??he desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the vain-glory of life??s not of the Father, but is of the world.
Whosoever has been begotten of God sins not; because His seed abides in him, and he cannot sin because he has been begotten of God.
And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye all know Him.
Who is the liar, but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Anti-Christ, he that denies the Father and the Son.
And the Anointing which ye received from Him abideth in you, and ye have no need that anyone teach you; but as His Anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as He taught you, ye abide in Him.
If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen.
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not abides in death.
In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God;
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those that sin not to death. There is a sin to death: I do not say that he shall make request concerning this.
And ye know that He was manifested, that He might take away sins; and in Him is no sin.
Every one that hates his brother is a murderer; and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
because this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
He who says, "I have known Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
I write to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.
and every spirit that confesses not Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, of which ye have heard that it is coming, and now it is in the world already.
We know that every one who has been begotten of God sins not; but he who was begotten of God keeps himself, and the evil one touches him not.
In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.
And we have beheld, and testify, that the Father hath sent the Son, as Savior of the world.
And every one that has this hope on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.
And the world is passing away, and the desire thereof; but be that does the will of God abides forever.
He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.
Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
and, if we know that He heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we asked of Him.
But he that hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and knows not where he is going, because the darkness blinded his eyes.
I wrote to you, fathers, because ye have known Him Who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and ye have conquered the evil one.
Hereby we shall know that we are of the truth, and we shall assure our heart before Him;
And this commandment we have from Him, that he who loves God loves his brother also.
And who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
As for you, let that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son and in the Father.
I did not write to you because ye know not the truth; but because ye know it, and because no falsehood is of the truth.
These things I wrote to you concerning those who would deceive you.
And this is the commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he has not believed in the testimony that God testified concerning His Son.
In this has love been made perfect with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world.
(and the Life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you The Eternal Life; Who, indeed, was with the Father, and was manifested to us);
And he that keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him; and in this we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit Whom He gave to us.
Little children, guard yourselves from idols.
This is He Who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and in the blood.
and whatsoever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do the things that are pleasing before Him.
but whosoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God has been perfected: in this we know that we are in Him.
If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one that does righteousness has been begotten of Him.
We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears us not: from this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Little children, let no one deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the Devil: every one that does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that does not love his brother;
because, if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Every one who denies the Son has not the Father either; he who confesses the Son has the Father also.
not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; because this is the testimony of God, that He hath testified concerning His Son.
Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in Him, and he in God.
Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but and old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye heard.
In this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and do His commandments.
He who says that he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now.
Every one that is abiding in Him sins not; whosoever sins has not seen Him nor known Him.
If we say, "We have not sinned," we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
And these things we write, that your joy may be made full.
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God;
And this is the promise which He Himself promised us, the eternal life.
I write to you, fathers, because ye have known Him Who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have conquered the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
Marvel not, brethren, if the world hates you.
