“Man is also disciplined with pain on his bed,
And with unceasing complaint in his bones,

His flesh will consume away from seeing, and they saw not the nakedness of his bones.

Then he will be gracious unto him, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

He will sing before men, and say, I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it hath not been requited to me;

For the ear will try words, and the palate will taste of food

We will choose to us judgment: we shall know between ourselves what is good.

He shall break in pieces the mighty, not searching out, and he will set others in their stead.

For this he will know their work, and he turned the night, and they will be crushed.

The evil-doers are broken by his wrath, he puts his hand on them with force before the eyes of all onlookers.

because thus they turned from following Him, and they did not consider all His ways;

To cause the cry of the poor one to come to him, and he will hear the cry of the humble.

When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth his face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;

Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

Men of understanding will say unto me, Yea, every wise man that heareth me:

But Job will be tested to the end, because his answers are like those of wicked men.

For he adds rebellion to his sin;
he scornfully claps in our presence,
while multiplying his words against God.

And Elihu will answer and say,

For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

If you sin, what will that do to harm him? If you add transgression to transgression what will it do to him?

If you are righteous, what will you add to him? What can God receive from your efforts?

From the multitude of oppressions they will cry out: they will cry out from the arm of the many.

And who teacheth us from the cattle of the earth, and he will make us wise above the birds of the heavens?

Then they will cry, and he will not answer from the face of the pride of the evil.

But now, because his anger does not punish, and he does not acknowledge the transgression at all,

And Job will open his mouth in vain; he will bind together words without knowledge.

For truly my words are not false; one who has all knowledge is talking with you.

He will not keep alive one who is lawless, but, the right of oppressed ones, will he grant;

He will not withdraw - from a righteous one - his eyes, - but, with kings on the throne, He hath seated men triumphantly, and they have been exalted.

And he will announce to them their work, and their transgressions, for they will be strong.

And he will uncover their ear for instruction, and he will say that they shall turn back from iniquity.

But if they do not obey,
they will cross the river of death
and die without knowledge.

They come to their end while they are still young, their life is short like that of those who are used for sex purposes in the worship of their gods.

He will deliver the poor one in his affliction, and he will uncover their ear in oppression.


“But you [Job] were full of judgment on the wicked,
Judgment and justice take hold of you.

Yes, [it is] wrath, so that it will not incite you into mockery; and do not let [the] ransom's greatness turn you aside.

Do not long for the night
when nations will disappear from their places.

Be careful! Don't turn to evil, because of this you will be tried by more than affliction.

Behold, God will exalt by his power: who teaches like him?

Who will reprove him of his way? Who will say unto him, 'Thou hast done wrong?'

"O consider how great and excellent his works be, whom all men love and praise:

For he will withhold the drops of water: they will pour out rain for its vapor.

When the clouds pour down; they drop their rain on all of humanity.

For by them he will judge the peoples; he will give food to abundance.

His thunder will announce concerning him, and the flock also concerning the going up.

Also at this my heart shall tremble, and it will leap from its place.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

Also by watering he will cast down the cloud: he will scatter the cloud of his light:

And it is turning itself round by His counsels, For their doing all He commandeth them, On the face of the habitable earth.

Will you, with him, make the skies smooth, and strong as a polished looking-glass?

Shall it be told him that I speak? If a man shall speak, surely he will be swallowed up.

And now they saw not the bright light that is in the clouds: and the wind passed over and it will cleanse them.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Therefore, do men revere him, He will not regard any who are wise in heart.

And he will hedge in the sea with doors in its breaking forth, going forth from the womb.
