Please give me the wisdom and knowledge I need to rule over them. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours? God replied to Solomon: You have made the right choice. Instead of asking for wealth, treasure, fame or the death of your enemies or even for long life for yourself, you have asked for wisdom and knowledge so that you can rule my people, over whom I have made you king. That night Jehovah appeared to him in a dream and asked him: What do you want me to give you? Solomon answered: You always showed great love for my father David, your servant. He was good, loyal, and honest in his relation with you. You have continued to show him your great and constant love by giving him a son who today rules in his place. O Jehovah God, you allowed me to succeed my father as king, even though I am very young and do not know how to rule.read more.
I am among the people you have chosen to be your own. They are a people who are so many that they cannot be counted. Give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice. All your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. If you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.

Let no man say when he is tempted: God tempts me. God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempts (entices) (tests) (trys) no one. Each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his evil desire (lust). He is enticed (allured). Then evil desires, when conceived, give birth to sin: and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.

You should learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice'; for I came, not to call the righteous, but sinners.

Know this first, that in the last days, mockers will come with mockery, walking after their own lusts,

Faithful is the saying: If a man seeks the office of overseer, he desires a good work.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have impaled the flesh with its passions and lusts.

They who live according to flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh. They who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Yet, you desire truth from the secret person within me. Deep down inside me teach me wisdom.

Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (greed), which is idolatry.

Jehovah has chosen Zion. He wants it for his home.

Flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord with a clean heart.

Live as children of obedience. Do not fashion yourself according to your former lusts, for you were ignorant at that time. Be holy in all your conduct, just as the one who called you is holy.

Beloved, I request that you as aliens and strangers abstain from fleshly lust (desires), which causes conflict in you.

Since Christ suffered physically for us, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had. Whoever suffers physically has ceased from sin.
