Argue my case, LORD, against those who argue against me. Fight against those who fight against me.

Wake up! Arouse yourself to vindicate me and argue my case, my God and my Lord.

You be my judge, God, and plead my case against an unholy nation; rescue me from the deceitful and unjust man.

You have done these things, and I kept silent;you thought I was just like you.But I will rebuke youand lay out the case before you.

Defend my case and redeem me; revive me according to your promise.

Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

The first to state his case seems rightuntil another comes and cross-examines him.

for the Lord will take up their caseand will plunder those who plunder them.

Do not go out hastily to argue your case;Otherwise, what will you do in the end,When your neighbor humiliates you?

The Lord rises to argue the caseand stands to judge the people.

“Submit your case,” says the Lord.“Present your arguments,” says Jacob’s King.

Take Me to court; let us argue our case together.State your case, so that you may be vindicated.

Who, like Me, can announce the future?Let him say so and make a case before Me,since I have established an ancient people.Let these gods declare the coming things,and what will take place.

Speak up and present your case—yes, let them take counsel together.Who predicted this long ago?Who announced it from ancient times?Was it not I, Yahweh?There is no other God but Me,a righteous God and Savior;there is no one except Me.

The One who vindicates Me is near;who will contend with Me?Let us confront each other.Who has a case against Me?Let him come near Me!

No one is concerned about justice; no one sets forth his case truthfully. They depend on false words and tell lies; they conceive of oppression and give birth to sin.

Therefore, I will bring a case against you again.This is the Lord’s declaration.I will bring a case against your children’s children.

You will be righteous, Lord,even if I bring a case against You.Yet, I wish to contend with You:Why does the way of the wicked prosper?Why do all the treacherous live at ease?

I made Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its officials drink it. I did it so Judah would become a ruin. I did it so Judah, its kings, and its officials would become an object of horror and of hissing scorn, an example used in curses. Such is already becoming the case!

The tumult reaches to the ends of the earthbecause the Lord brings a case against the nations.He enters into judgment with all flesh.As for the wicked, He hands them over to the sword—this is the Lord’s declaration.

As to my case, I am in your power. Do to me what you deem fair and proper.

No one takes up the case for your sores.There is no healing for you.

then in that case listen to the word of the Lord, O remnant of Judah. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “If you really set your mind to enter Egypt and go in to reside there,

My wrath and my anger were poured out, and they burned in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem so that they have become a ruin and a desolate place, as is the case today.'

The LORD could no longer bear it because of your evil deeds and the repulsive things that you did. So your land has become a ruin and an object of horror and ridicule without an inhabitant, as is the case today.

Because you offered sacrifices and sinned against the LORD, you didn't obey the LORD and didn't live according to his Law, his statutes, or his testimonies; therefore, this disaster has happened to you, as is the case today."

Their Redeemer is strong;Yahweh of Hosts is His name.He will fervently plead their caseso that He might bring rest to the earthbut turmoil to those who live in Babylon.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says:I am about to plead your caseand take vengeance on your behalf;I will dry up her seaand make her fountain run dry.

Lord, You see the wrong done to me;judge my case.

Behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate which faces north, each with his shattering weapon in his hand; and among them was a certain man clothed in linen with a writing case at his loins. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar.

Then the glory that is Israel's God arose from the cherubim on which he had been seated and settled on the threshold of the Temple. He called out to the man dressed in linen who wore the writing case at his side.

Hear the word of the Lord, people of Israel,for the Lord has a caseagainst the inhabitants of the land:There is no truth, no faithful love,and no knowledge of God in the land!

But let no one dispute; let no one argue,for My case is against you priests.

I will gather all nations, bringing them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will set out my case against them there, on behalf of my people, my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, apportioning my land among themselves.

Now listen to what the Lord is saying:Rise, plead your case before the mountains,and let the hills hear your voice.

Listen to the Lord’s lawsuit,you mountains and enduring foundations of the earth,because the Lord has a case against His people,and He will argue it against Israel.

Because I have sinned against Him,I must endure the Lord’s rageuntil He argues my caseand establishes justice for me.He will bring me into the light;I will see His salvation.

In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,‘You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;You will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;

And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands and grasps it; he indeed bears fruit and yields, some a hundred times [as much as was sown], some sixty [times as much], and some thirty.”

So Jesus told him, "In that case, the subjects are exempt. However, so that we don't offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, open its mouth, and you will find a coin. Take it and give it to them for me and you."

On the same day a party of Sadducees came to Him, contending that there is no resurrection. And they put this case to Him.

In that case how are the Scriptures to be fulfilled which declare that thus it must be?"

If a peaceful person lives there, your greeting of peace will remain with him. But if that's not the case, your greeting will come back to you.

"When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, don't sit down at the place of honor in case someone more important than you was invited by the host.

Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of earthly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?

For if they are doing these things in the case of the green tree, what will be done in that of the dry?"

They examined me and wanted to let me go because there was no reason for me to receive the death penalty in my case.

Of course not! God is true, even if everyone else is a liar. As it is written, "You are right when you speak, and win your case when you go into court."

No indeed; for in that case how shall He judge all mankind?)

whereas in the case of a man who pleads no actions of his own, but simply believes in Him who declares the ungodly free from guilt, his faith is placed to his credit as righteousness.
