After this, Jesus and His disciples went into Judea, and for some time He stayed there with them and kept baptizing people.

After the two days were over, Jesus left there and went on to Galilee,

This is the second wonder-work that Jesus performed after He had come back from Judea to Galilee.

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

After this Jesus went to the other side of the sea of Galilee, or Tiberias.

Other boats from Tiberias had landed near the place where the people ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

After this, Jesus went on moving about in Galilee; He would not do so in Judea, because the Jews were trying to kill Him.

But after His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He went up too, not publicly but, as it were, privately.

After that He said to His disciples, "Let us go back to Judea."

He said this, and after that He added, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him."

His disciples at the time did not understand this, but after Jesus was glorified, they remembered that this had been written about Him and that they had fulfilled it in His case.

So the Pharisees said to one another, "You see, you cannot help it at all; the whole world has gone off after Him!"

After saying this Jesus was deeply moved in spirit and solemnly said, "I most solemnly say to you, one of you is going to betray me."

"In just a little while you will not see me any longer; and yet, in just a little while after you will see me again."

So some of His disciples said to one another, "What does He mean by telling us, 'In just a little while you will not see me, and yet in just a little while after you will see me again,' and 'Because I am going away to the Father'?"

Jesus knew that they wanted to ask Him a question, and so He said to them, "Are you inquiring of one another about this saying of mine, 'In just a little while you will not see me, and yet in just a little while after you will see me again'?

Simon Peter and another disciple followed on after Jesus. And that other disciple was acquainted with the high priest, and so went on with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard,

After He had said this, one of the attendants standing by slapped Jesus in the face, and said, "Is this the way you answer the high priest?"

After this, as Jesus knew that everything was now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, "I am thirsty."

After this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one because of his fear of the Jews, asked permission of Pilate to remove the body of Jesus, and Pilate granted it. So he went and removed His body.

After this Jesus again showed Himself to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias, and this is the way He showed Himself.

This was now the third time that Jesus showed Himself to His disciples, after He had risen from the dead.

After they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, are you more devoted to me than you are to these things?" Peter answered Him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I tenderly love you." Jesus said to him, "Then feed my lambs."

He said this to point out the sort of death by which Peter was to glorify God. So after He had said this, He said to Peter, "Keep on following me!"

After He had suffered, He had shown Himself alive to them, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them through a period of forty days, and telling them the things about the kingdom of God.

After saying this, He was taken up while they were looking at Him, and a cloud swept under Him and carried Him out of their sight.

And while they were gazing after Him into heaven, two men dressed in white suddenly stood beside them,

this very Jesus, I say, after He was betrayed, in accordance with the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you had wicked men kill by nailing Him to a cross;

Day after day they regularly attended the temple; they practiced breaking their bread together in their homes, and eating their food with glad and simple hearts,

It was to you first that He sent His Servant, after raising Him from the dead, to bless you by causing every one of you to turn from his wicked ways."

So, after further threatening them, they turned them loose, because they could not find any way to punish them, on account of the people, because they all continued to praise God for what had taken place,

The God of our forefathers raised Jesus to life after you had hanged Him on a cross and killed Him.

After him, at the time of the enrollment for the Roman tax, Judas the Galilean appeared and influenced people to desert and follow him, but he too perished and all his followers were scattered.

They were convinced by him, and after calling the apostles in and having them flogged, they charged them to stop speaking on the authority of Jesus, and then turned them loose.

They presented these men to the apostles, and after they had prayed, they laid their hands upon them.

So he left the country of the Chaldeans and for a time made his home in Haran. Then after the death of his father, God had him move to this country in which you now live.

He gave him no property in it, not even a foot of land, and yet He promised to give it to him and his descendants after him, as a permanent possession, although he had no child at that time.

But God further promised: 'I will pass sentence on the nation that enslaves them, and after that they will leave that country and worship me on this very spot.'

But our forefathers would not listen to him, but pushed him aside, and in their hearts they hankered after Egypt;

Everybody, high and low, kept running after him, saying, "He is certainly what is known as the Great Power of God!"

They kept running after him, because for a long time he had thrilled them with his magical performances.

So Simon himself came to believe too, and after he was baptized he continued to be devoted to Philip, and he was always thrilled at seeing such great signs and wonder-works continuously performed.

So after they had given their testimony and spoken the Lord's message, they started back to Jerusalem, and on the way continued to tell the good news in many Samaritan villages.

and after taking some food he felt strong again. For several days he stayed with the disciples at Damascus,

After several days had gone by, the Jews laid a plot to murder him,

After the angel who had spoken to him had gone, Cornelius called two of his household servants, and a religious soldier who was one of his devoted attendants,

and after telling them the whole story, sent them to Joppa.

The next day he started off with them, and some of the brothers in Joppa went along with him. The day after that they reached Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for him, as he had invited in his kinsmen and close friends.

You know the story yourselves that spread all over Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached,

not by all the people but by witnesses whom God had beforehand appointed, namely, by us who ate and drank with Him after His resurrection from the dead.

and after he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. Now for a whole year their meeting with the church lasted, and they taught large numbers of people. It was at Antioch too that the disciples first came to be known as "Christians."

He had him seized and put into prison, and turned him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, planning after the Passover to bring him out again to the people.

Now Herod cherished a bitter grudge against the people of Tyre and Sidon. So in a united body they came to meet him, and after winning the favor of Blastus, the king's chamberlain, they asked for peace, because their country depended for its food supply upon the king's country.

So after fasting and praying, they laid their hands upon them and let them go.

After the reading of the law and the prophets, the leaders of the synagogue worship sent to them and said, "Brothers, if you have any message of encouragement for the people, you may speak."

Then after He had fed them forty years in the desert,

and gave them their land as an inheritance for about four hundred and fifty years. And after that He gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.

Then He deposed him and raised up for them David to be king, to whom He bore this testimony, 'I have found in David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all that my will requires.'

As John was closing his career, he said, 'What do you take me to be? I am not the Christ; no, but He is coming after me, and I am not fit to untie the shoes on His feet.'

For David, after having served God's purpose in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid among his forefathers, and so he did experience decay,

and after the congregation had broken up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism allied themselves with Paul and Barnabas, and they kept talking to them and urging them to continue to rely on the unmerited favor of God.

They told the good news in that town, and after winning many disciples there, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,

They helped them select elders in each church, and after praying and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

and after telling their message in Perga, they went on to Attalia,

After a lengthy discussion Peter got up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that in the early days God chose among you that through me the heathen should hear the message of the good news and believe it.

'After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen dwelling; I will rebuild its ruins and set it up again,

After spending some time there, they were sent back with a greeting to those who sent them.

Some days after this Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the brothers in every town where we preached the Lord's message, to see how they are."

But Paul selected Silas and set out, after the brothers had committed him to the favor of the Lord.

After flogging them severely, they put them into jail, and gave the jailer orders to keep close watch on them.

After leading them out of the jail, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

After getting out of jail, they went to Lydia's house; they saw the brothers and encouraged them, and then left town.

After this he left Athens and went to Corinth.

After spending some time there, he started out again, and by a definite schedule traveled all over Galatia and Phrygia, imparting new strength to all the disciples.

Then Paul said, "John baptized with a baptism that was an expression of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was to come after him; that is, in Jesus."

After these events had been brought to a close, Paul under the guidance of the Spirit decided to pass through Macedonia and Greece on his way to Jerusalem, saying, "After I have gone there I must see Rome too."

while we, after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, sailed from Philippi, and five days after joined them at Troas, where we spent a week.

So he went back upstairs, and broke the bread and ate with them, and after talking with them extendedly, even till daylight, he left them.

except that in town after town the Holy Spirit emphatically assures me that imprisonment and sufferings are awaiting me.

Because I know that after I have gone violent wolves will break in among you and will not spare the flock.

Even from your own number men will appear who will try, by speaking perversions of truth, to draw away the disciples after them.

After he had finished this speech, he fell on his knees with them all and prayed.

After sighting Cyprus and leaving it on our left, we sailed on for Syria, and put in at Tyre, for the ship was to unload her cargo there.

After this we got ready and started up to Jerusalem.

He granted the request, and Paul, as he was standing on the steps, made a gesture to the people, and after everybody had quieted down, he spoke to them in Hebrew as follows:

After I had come back to Jerusalem, one day while I was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance,

After day had dawned, the Jews formed a conspiracy and took an oath not to eat or drink till they had killed Paul.

After several years' absence I came to bring contributions of charity for my nation, and to offer sacrifices.

Now three days after his arrival Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem,

After staying there not more than eight or ten days, he went down to Caesarea, and the next day, after taking his seat on the judge's bench, he ordered Paul brought in.

Then Festus, after conferring with the council, answered, "To the emperor you have appealed, to the emperor you shall go!"

After the passing of a few days, King Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea to pay official respects to Festus,

and after leaving the room, as they continued to talk the matter over together, they said, "This man has done nothing to deserve death or imprisonment."

After going on board an Adramyttian ship bound for the ports of Asia, we set sail. On board with us was Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica.

After setting sail from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the wind was against us,

and after sailing the whole length of the sea off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we reached Myra in Lycia.

After considerable time had gone by, and navigation had become dangerous, and the fast was now over, Paul began to warn them

After hoisting it on board, they used ropes to brace the ship, and since they were afraid of being stranded on the Syrtis quicksands, they lowered the sail and let her drift.

After they had gone a long time without any food, then Paul got up among them and said: "Men, you ought to have listened to me and not to have sailed from Crete, and you would have escaped this disaster and loss.

After saying this he took some bread and thanked God for it before them all; then he broke it in pieces and began to eat it.
