Arise, take to thee the little child and its mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they who sought the life of the little child are dead.

For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.

And if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut it off and cast it from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire.

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee; it is good for thee to enter into life one-eyed, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

And lo, one coming up said to him, Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have life eternal?

and I know that his commandment is life eternal. What therefore I speak, as the Father has said to me, so I speak.
