And, afterward, Hezron went in unto the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead, and he took her when he was sixty years old, - and she bare him Segub.

and the families of Kirjath-Jearim: the Ithrite, and the Puhite, and the Shumathite, and the Mishraite: from these went out the Zareathite, and the Eshtaulite.

And Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who were rulers in Moab, and went back to Beth-lehem. And the records are very old.

Courageous men from the Gadites came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and who were swift as gazelles on the mountains.

These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it overflows all its banks, and they put to flight all them of the valleys, toward the east and toward the west.

Other Benjaminites and men from Judah also went to David at the stronghold.

And David went forth to meet them, and responded, and said to them, If, peaceably, ye are come unto me, to help me, I shall have towards you, a heart for unity, - but, if to betray me to mine adversaries, there being no violence in my hands, may the God of our fathers see and rebuke!

Some men from Manasseh joined David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (But in the end they did not help the Philistines because, after taking counsel, the Philistine lords sent David away, saying: "It would be disastrous for us if he deserts to his master Saul.")

When he went into Ziklag, there fell away unto him, of Manasseh, Adnah and Jozabad, and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad, and Elihu and Zillethai, - chiefs of the thousands that pertained to Manasseh;

Of Zebulun, such as went forth in the host, armed for war with all weapons of war, fifty thousand, keeping rank without double heart.

And of Asher such as went forth in the host, to set themselves in battle array, forty thousand.

And David went up and all Israel to Baalah, unto Kiriath-jearim, which pertaineth to Judah, - to bring up from thence, the ark of God - Yahweh who inhabiteth the cherubim, on which is called the Name.

And, when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek to secure David, - and David, hearing, went out against them.

So the Israelites went up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated the Philistines there. Then David said, “Like a bursting flood, God has used me to burst out against my enemies.” Therefore, they named that place the Lord Bursts Out.

Then the Philistines again went out in every direction in the valley.

And David went for directions to God; and God said to him, You are not to go up after them; but, turning away from them, come face to face with them opposite the spice-trees.

And the name of David went forth, throughout all the lands, - and, Yahweh, put the dread of him upon all the nations.

And David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.

And they went from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people.

And all the people departed, every man to his house, - and David went round, to bless his own household.

In all that I went about in all Israel, spake I the word with one of the judges of Israel that I commanded to feed my people, saying, Wherefore built ye not to me a house of cedars

I was with you wherever you went and I defeated all your enemies before you. Now I will make you as famous as the great men of the earth.

When Nathan had told David according to all these words, and to all this vision, king David went

And king David went in and sat before Jehovah, and said, Who am I, Jehovah Elohim, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

And who is like thy people Israel, the one nation in the earth that God went to redeem to be a people to himself, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, which thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?

And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.

And he put garrisons in Edom; and all they of Edom became servants to David. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.

And certain went and told David concerning the men; and he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Abide at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

And they hired thirty two thousand chariots, and the king of Maacah and his people, which came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities and went out to battle.

The Ammonites went out in battle formation in front of the entrance to the city while the kings who had come stayed by themselves in the open fields.

So Joab and the people who were with him went forward into the fight against the Aramaeans, and they went in flight before him.

When the Ammonites saw the Arameans flee, they fled before Joab's brother Abishai and withdrew into the city. Joab went back to Jerusalem.

And when the Syrians saw that they were routed before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the Syrians that were beyond the river; and Shophach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

And word of this was given to David; and he got all Israel together and went over Jordan and came to Helam and put his forces in position against them. And when David's forces were in position against the Aramaeans, the fight was started.

And the Aramaeans went in flight before Israel; and David put to the sword the men of seven thousand Aramaean war-carriages and forty thousand footmen, and put to death Shophach, the captain of the army.

In the spring, at the time when kings normally conduct wars, Joab led the army into battle and devastated the land of the Ammonites. He went and besieged Rabbah, while David stayed in Jerusalem. Joab defeated Rabbah and tore it down.

And he took the people out of the town and put them to work with wood-cutting instruments, and iron grain-crushers, and axes. And this he did to all the towns of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people went back to Jerusalem.

But the king's word prevailed against Joab; and Joab departed, and went through all Israel, and came again to Jerusalem.

Gad went to David and told him, "This is what the Lord says: 'Pick one of these:

And David, lifting up his eyes, saw the angel of the Lord there between earth and heaven, with an uncovered sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the responsible men, clothed in haircloth, went down on their faces.

And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of Jehovah.

And Ornan, turning back, saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him went to a secret place. Now Ornan was crushing his grain.

And David came to Ornan, and Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing-floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.

The first lot went to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

The first lot went to Asaph's son Joseph and his relatives and sons -- twelve in all, the second to Gedaliah and his relatives and sons -- twelve in all,

The lot for the east gate went to Shelemiah. They then cast lots for his son Zechariah, a wise adviser, and the lot for the north gate went to him.

For Obed-edom it fell to the south, and to his sons went the storehouse.

For Shuppim and Hosah [it went out] for the west, at the gate of Shalleketh, on the road that goes up, guard for guard.

Now, the sons of Israel - as to the number of them, the ancestral chiefs - and rulers of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who waited upon the king as to any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month, for all the months of the year, in each course, were twenty-four thousand.

Joab son of Zeruiah began to number, and finished not, for there will be wrath upon this against Israel; and the number went not up into the Amber of the words of the days to king David.

So Solomon was put on the seat of the Lord as king in place of his father David, and everything went well for him; and all Israel was under his authority.

With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
