For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have especially for you.

begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints,

as it is written, “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
